Ava had no idea how her heels twisted on the stairs. She reached for the stair railing, but her fingers slipped and she was on the verge of falling.
Her body was waiting to hit the stairs, so she closed her eyes tightly.
But before she could fall, a pair of strong arms encircled her waist.
She was holding the person’s sleeves tightly with her eyes squeezed shut.
A familiar scent touched her nostrils, and she furrowed her brows. Her eyes sprang open in shock. She raised her head to look at the person. He held her in his arms and pressed her head against his chest as if to protect her.
Ava froze when she realized that it was Ian.
He slowly lowered his head to examine her face. Her brows shot up when she noticed a glint of softness in his eyes.
“Are you oka-”
His gentle tone nearly shook her heart. However, someone turned him around before he could finish his sentence.
It was Dane who reached her after Ian.
Dane grabbed Ava’s waist and pulled her closer to him. He pushed Ian’s chest, growling at him.
“Stay away from her.”
Ian’s gaze was focused on Ava. He could not react to Dane because he was only looking at her to see if she was right or had been hurt somewhere.
“D–Dane, it’s fine,” Ava mumbled, trying to stand straight.
Dane did not allow her to stand. He lifted her in his arms and said,
“You are going with me to my house.”
He appeared to be both angry and worried. Ava gulped and nodded her head at him. She slowly wrapped her hands around his neck and rested her head against his chest.
Ian remained quiet as he watched everything. His jaw clenched as all the softness in his eyes washed away in a second.
Ava cast a glance at Ian. She was not sure why he had saved her.
Didn’t he say he wanted to kill her?
“Thank you, Mr. Dawson,” she murmured.
Ian raised an eyebrow as he heard her.
Mr. Dawson?
Was she trying to speak to him as if he were a stranger?
Ian became furious with her and tightened his fists.
He was fuming as he watched Dane holding her in his arms. His heart ached, and he wanted to beat this man to death.
He realized they had both played a trick on him. They both knew each other for a long time and tried to break him.

“I wonder how long Alpha Dane has known Miss Taylor? It did not look like they just met each other and got into a relationship,” Ian said loudly as Dane turned to leave.
Everyone around them was staring at them. They heard Ian and started to talk about Ava and Dane. They witnessed the interaction between their Alpha and Ava. But Alpha Ian had just confirmed that they were in a relationship.
Dane turned to Ian’s side and answered,
“Before Alpha Ian could meet her.”
Ava was dumbfounded. She gave Dane a puzzled expression
Dane walked toward the elevator without looking at Ava.
Ava was baffled. How did Dane come to know her before Ian? She grew up in the Mystic Shadow Pack. Then how?
She assumed he was referring to the time before the war.
When Dane stepped into the elevator, Freya was staring at him.
Her eyes were on him all the time, watching his every move and expression.
“What are you doing here?” she heard a familiar voice.
“Brother,” she mumbled without turning her head.
Beta Bruno had just come to the floor and witnessed everything that had just happened there.
“Your fiancée is after my Alpha’s interest. Can’t you see how cheap he is? Why don’t you leave him?” Bruno said.
Freya scoffed at him and turned to him.
“Leave him? Then what? Come back to your Alpha?”
Bruno glared at her and uttered,
“It’s all your fault. You were the person who approached Alpha Ian. You shouldn’t have done that. You could have chosen to stay with Alpha Dane. Everything would have been better than this. How did you decide to be someone else’s Luna when you already had Alpha Dane?”
Freya’s gaze shifted to Ian, who was staring at the elevator’s closed door.
“How do I express what is going on inside, brother? The two men who used to follow me and I were the center of attraction in their lives… Once again, they fell for the same woman. But this time it’s not me but someone else.”
Beta Bruno was astounded by her remarks. He turned his attention to Ian, observing him.
“What is it about that woman that appeals to everyone?”
Freya smirked and shook her head. “Something that piques both bad boys‘ interest.”
“What are you going to do now? Who are you looking for?” Bruno asked her directly.
Freya fixed her gaze on Ian and replied to her brother,
“Of course the one who is more powerful and strong.”
Beta Bruno got mad at his sister. “What do you mean by that? Do you mean my Alpha is not more powerful and stronger than Ian Dawson?”
After donning purple sunglasses, Freya turned to face her brother.

Bruno sneered at her, glancing at Ian. “He is a villain. I am telling you, Freya. You still have time. Watch out.”
Freya smiled at him and replied,
“I like this handsome villain then. There is no way I will let your Alpha win over him.”
Are you that mad at Alpha Dane that you chose his rival?”
Freya’s eyes grew cold behind her glasses. Her smirk disappeared as she murmured,
“He deserves it. Dad shouldn’t have given my responsibility to him. Dad should have known that this man would definitely find the woman with whom he was bound to be.”
