Abigail blinked her eyes and averted her gaze away from him. The moment she removed her hands from his “jacket, she moved away from him.
Lowering her gaze, she replied in a low tone.
“That is none of your concern, Beta Ronald ”
Ronald’s gaze pounced on her. With an angry expression, he turned his head away from her and chewed his lip from inside.
“How is your new project going?” he asked, shifting the conversation away from the previous topic.
His gaze returned to Ava as he closely observed her and Dane. He frowned when he noticed Dane touching Ava’s hair. He thought their closeness would hurt his best friend iven more.
“It’s going well. Thanks for asking,” she said, trying to walk past him.
Ronald quickly held her wrist and pulled her back. It caused her body to draw closer to him.
Her eyes widened as she focused on him.
Ronald stared at her face, and without realizing it, his eyes softened. Her long eyelashes blinked, causing him to lose his grip on her hand.
He shifted his gaze away from her and toward Beta Bruno, who was watching them from a distance.
“I have a work for you,” he muttered.
Abigail narrowed her eyes and asked,
“What work? And why do you think I would do that?”
He returned his attention to her eyes, where he saw a reflection of the past. He murmured calmly,

Abigail turned her head to glance at Beta Bruno. He raised his drink at her; she smiled at him in return.
The sight of her smiling at Bruno caused Ronlad to snort. With an irritated tone, he uttered,
“I never knew people could get along in one night.”
With a brief smile, Abigail cast a glance in Ronald’s direction. Then she gave him her response,
“You are right. People should not get along in a single night”
Ronald’s expression changed when he realized what she was talking about.
“Help me with getting Ava out of the hall.”
Abigail was stunned. “What?”
Ronald cast a glance at Ava and murmured to Abigall,

Abigall remained calm and shy until she heard her best friend’s name. She gave him a disapproving, expression and said,
