Jadooked into Ava’s eyes. As deeply as he looked Into then he searched for love for himself. However, the harshness of her eyes did not allow her to reveal what it was that he desired to see.
“Ava,” he mumbled.
His eyes became blurry, and he was unsure of how the feelings that were brewing in his heart had made their way to his eyes. He did not want to let them flow out.
She shook her head, letting go of his wrists. She wiped her gears and said,
“Ian, you should have distrusted me just like you did years go. Now, there is nothing to apologize for. You did what you did. You almost ruined my life. But…”
She paused, lowering her gaze from him. She closed her ey. A small smile appeared on her lips, causing him to frown.
“But what?” he asked, hoping that she could still give him a chance to let him explain his heart.

Jan’s eyes darkened as soon as she talked about another man. He knew she was talking about Dane.
All these years, there was an animosity in his mind for Dan However, tonight, he felt hatred for him. It was because he realized the woman he had lost had made her way to Dane.
lan lifted his hand and grasped her arm.
“Please, don’t say that. If you did not cheat on me that night, it means you truly loved me.”
Ava clenched her jaw and lifted her head to look at his face.
The blurriness in his eyes surprised her. She was shocked that this man was on the verge of crying.

Ava tried to break his grip, but he was like a stone. She stopped struggling and rested her hands on his wrists. His thumbs gently stroked her cheek, causing her to experience a sensation that she did not wish to have.
She then took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes.
“You hurt me a lot, lan Dawson. There is no way I can forgive you.”
She remembered all the pain she had to go through.
Without opening her eyes, she questioned, “You said why didn’t I return to this pack?”
“Because this pack is yours.”
Feeling his hands freeze, she opened her eyes. Gazing into his eyes, she uttered,
“Every time I saw your interviews talking about getting engaged, I regretted loving you in the past. How can I forget how quickly you moved on? There were so many times when I wanted to talk to you, but do you know who received the call? Another woman. When she asked you about me, do you know what you replied? You only know one girl named Ava who is a slut.”
The rhythm of lan’s heartbeat was getting more sluggish. Each and every one of her words caused his heart to become heavier.
He recalled his ex–secretary was a woman. She had asked a few times if he knew anyone named Ava. Every time she asked, he felt rage thinking about the cheating and answered her with anger. But that woman never mentioned that Ava had ever called him. Nor had he ever received any call logs on his phone. Perhaps she deleted the call logs after asking him about using his phone to send emails while they were outside the office or in the pack house.
Thinking that Ava had tried to reach him in the past, his heart turned cold.
He struggled to come out with the words, “I am sorry.”
Although he was unable to see it because of the blurriness, Ava’s eyes briefly flashed a green color.
“Let go.”
lan released his hold on her cheeks, believing he was making her mad at him.
