The abrupt change in her mood caught lan off guard. She looked in a good mood as If she was not angry before.
Whenever she referred to Dane as her man, he experienced heavy heart. It was as if his heart was being squeezed inside every time she said that.
“I know what you are thinking. Actually, whenever I think about Dane, I just can’t help but feel happy inside. He is so good to me that I always thought, Why didn’t I meet him before? He should have been the first love of my life.”
Her every word was only shuddering him. His eyes tried to conceal a deep sorrow inside him. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly as he murmured,
“First love…”
She was his first love. She was the very first girl that he had ever developed feelings for. His thoughts had always been drawn to her whenever anyone brought up the subject of love. During these four years, he came to the realisation that he was deeply in love with her. Despite trying to hate her, he could never forget about her for a
moment.
She was always in his mind, recalling every moment that he had spent with her. He had never thought about any other girl because she was the only girl he wanted to make his Luna. Four years ago, didn’t he already tell his parents that he had found his Luna? Didn’t he already make the decision to take her as his own for the rest of his life?
He had never felt the same way about anyone as he did about her.
What else could it be if it was not first love?
With a deep breath out, he remarked, “People say no one can forget their first love.”
Ava’s eyebrows raised slightly as if she was affected by what he had said. But she nodded her head right away and answered,
“You are right. No one can forget their first love. I will always remember it as a betrayal. And you…” she said, pausing to smile at him as though gathering her thoughts.
Assuming she was aware of his innermost thoughts, he asked, “And me what?”
The truth was he could never forget her and would never forget her either.
“You don’t have to forget your first love since she’s with you and always will be,” she laughed.
Ian was stunned. His brows shot up and his eyes gleamed in hope. He suddenly felt unexpectedly happy inside, thinking that she had forgiven him and wanted to be with him forever.
“Ava”
He was about to tell her that he still loved her just like he did four years ago because she was his first lov
However, she turned around and moved toward the bookshelf, shifting the books again.
“Freya is a nice young lady. I used to think of her as a pretentious woman. But hearing her story made me feel guilty. I really feel sorry for her. Because of me, she felt comered.”
Ian frowned, fixing his gaze on her back.

Who told her that Freya was his first love? He used to think that Freya was the first girl in his life for whom he fell But he was wrong. He was a kid who was seeking company and liked her. He indeed had a soft spot for Freya. But hat was not love.
It was Ava who made him realize what the feeling of love was. She was his first love, not Freya, nor anyone else.
He blinked when he heard her again. Her words directly stabbed his heart.
“But no worries. That was our destiny. If she didn’t break up with Dane, you could not get her, and I could not be with Dane. He is not my first love, but he will always be my last love.”
Jan felt heartbroken. Did she just say she loves Dane? How deep was her love?
“Ava, don’t say that in front of me. You know how guilty I am. I know you are saying this just to hurt me,” he said, lowering his head.
She turned around and asked,
“What are you saying? Now I can’t even express my love for my man? Why would I make you feel guilty?”
He looked at her and asked,
“Don’t you feel anything whenever you see me with another woman?”
“Didn’t I tell you to be happy with your fiancée? I am happy for you both,” she replied carelessly.
Ian did not know what to feel. The pain that he was experiencing in his chest was only getting worse with each
response.
“Do you really love him so much that you have forgotten your feelings for me?”
She glared at him and replied, “I love him so much that I can kill you for him.”
Jan felt a shiver inside hearing her cold voice and unexpected reply.
“Ian Dawson, when will you stop bothering me?” she asked directly without beating around the bush.
He flashed his eyes and shook his head. “I was very hurtful to you. I don’t want to do that again. If you really want me to stay away from you and let you live how you want, I won’t disturb you again. I… I will handle myself.”
She placed her hands on the desk and nodded her head.
“Of course. I did the same thing years ago. It is your turn to handle yourself, Mr. Dawson.”
