When the music stopped, they stopped dancing. Dane took Ava with him and introduced her to other people.
They came to a stop in front of Ava and lan’s parents. They talked for a while.
Ava noticed that Carolina was glancing at her with an upset look. Ava could not understand her look. She only smiled at her. Meanwhile, Angela, her mother, looked happy to see Dane’s gentlemanly treatment of Ava,
What would a mother prefer over this?
While standing with them, Ava’s eyes moved around the hall. Her eyes paused when they met a pair of dark eyes.
Ian was present at the party. He was staring at her. He did not seem pleased with anything there.
Ava looked away from him, thinking,
‘You should not have come here, Ian.‘
Ava noticed her friends waving to her as they entered the hall.
“You invited my friends too?” Ava asked Dane with a calm tone.
“Of course,” Dane replied, glancing at her friends.
Her friends also looked unpleasant after seeing her with Dane. She let out a sigh and turned to look at him.
“I need to talk to you.”
Dane reached out her hand and held it. “Okay, let’s talk then.”
It was then that he began to drag her in a different direction, where there were a few rooms available for rest.
When Beta Bruno saw them heading in that direction, he came to stop them. “Alpha, you need to cut the cake. It’s almost midnight.”
Dane gave him a nod while saying, “I will be back in a while.”
Beta Bruno looked at Ava and then moved aside to let them go. Ava cast a glance at Bruno, who looked mentally disturbed. She knew he was angry at Dane for choosing her over his sister
Dane brought her to a private room. She looked around. It was quite a good stay for the guests. She then heard Dane.
“So? What do you want to talk about, Ava?”
In the party hall,
Ian was sitting in the bar. The glass of wine continued to swirl as his gaze was fixed in one direction.
Ian felt his heart was itching. He wanted to kill Dane when he saw him dancing with Ava and then going somewhere with her.
He was heartbroken that despite everything that had happened in the past few days, Ava had not broken up with Dane.
Was she so much in love with Dane? Was his love for her worthless in her eyes?
His friends had gathered to join him. They ordered drinks and gazed at him.
“Don’t lose your calm. I think you should leave the party now,” Ronald said.
Stephen agreed with him. Although their girlfriends stated that Ava still loved Ian but was confused, they did not tell Ian. They were aware of how he was. He would forcefully take Ava away from this pack if he got to know about her feelings.
Ian ignored their suggestions as his eyes wandered around the hall His brow furrowed when he recognized a familiar face,
‘What is she doing here?‘ Ian wondered while looking at an old woman.
He rose from his seat and exited the bar, heading toward the elderly woman.
Ian paused his steps when he noticed the other woman standing next to her.
“Mom, how are you?”
Angela was the one who spoke to the elderly woman. Ian was dumbfounded. ‘Is she her mother?‘
He went over to them. When the old woman saw him in front of her, she quickly bowed her head.
“All hail to Alpha Ian.”
Other people in the hallway cast glances at them. They knew lan was powerful and their rival. No doubt others would bow to him, so they excused the fact and focused on themselves.
“Raise,” Ian said, looking at the old woman carefully.
“Mom, how do you know our head Alpha?” Angela asked.
“You forgot that he is also the Head Alpha of the Red Moon Pack.”
“Do you mean you have been living there?”
The old woman responded with a nod.
“Is she your mother?” Ian asked Angela.
Angela shook her head, saying, “She is my ex–mother–in–law. During the war, she had to escape this pack in order to save herself. I used to believe she was killed in the war. But it seems she has been living in the other pack. She is alive; that is a huge relief.”
That old woman was none other than Kaily, an old witch. She was the same witch who had encountered Ian as a child and warned him.
Kaily told Angela that she wanted to have a word with Ian. Angela left their side to let them talk. “Alpha, you found that witch, didn’t you?”
Ian looked into her green eyes, which reminded him of Ava’s. “That’s your granddaughter.”
“1
That caught the old witch off guard. “B–But…”
Ian scoffed at her and said, “Stop warning me and wish me luck to be with her.”
After saying that, Ian turned around. But she stopped him from behind by saying,
“Alpha, just reject her and set yourself free. She is your demise. She is destined to alter the forecast. She can only save one, and you won’t be her choice.”
