Ava’s heart turned cold as she gazed at them. Tears were rolling down her eyes, but no one knew for whom.
She glanced at Ian.
Everyone thought he had chosen him.
Her family and friends nodded their heads. Her mother, Angela, spoke out.
“Choose your mate, my daughter. That is what I wanted from the beginning. If fate has given you both a second chance, then grab it.”
Alpha Martin, who always looked so strong and strict, felt nervous to see his son nearly dead. His voice trembled and his heart fumbled.
“Save my son. H–He is not that bad.‘
The father who had always referred to his son as a bad boy went on to say that he was not all that bad today.
It was a pain for a father to see his young son dying in front of him.
Ian, on the other hand, stared at Ava. His lips curled as he shook his head slightly. With gathering his strength to speak, he let out a whisper.

It was as if he knew her decision, but he did not want her to feel forced by the people around them. He encouraged her to follow her heart.
Others heard him although it came out as a whisper.
Ian’s parents and his friends were shocked. They began to scold him for talking nonsense.

After saying that, Ava walked past Ian and headed to Dane, leaving everyone shocked.
Ava’s mother, Angela, stared at her daughter while recalling the witch’s prophecy.
Walking, stepping toward Dane, the witch’s voice rang in Ava’s head.
“You are a witch with werewolf blood. You are a woman capable of bringing any Alpha down before you. But there will come a time when you have to choose between the two ways.”
Ava took a pause as she turned her head to glance at Ian.
He was staring at her with a smile on his face as if telling her that he had no regret.

Ian saw Ava sitting down near Dane. Dane’s wolf stopped shaking when she touched his body. Freya was crying while sitting
beside Ava.
Ian’s smile faded slowly as the old witch, Kaily, pressed her hand against his wound to stop the bleeding.
“Alpha, I warned you to stay away from her. I have always warned you that she will be your demise. But your love was blind. You yourself fell into the trap of fate.”
Her voice was loud. Every single person heard her.
But Ian could not hear anything because his head was throbbing with pain. He looked away and turned his head to look at the sky, feeling the darkness around him slowly engulfing him.
He felt his body being lifted and placed on a stretcher bed. His family was running beside him when his body started to move as if they were taking him to a hospital.
His heart was beating too slowly to take a deep breath.
In the darkness, he discovered the moon, which gave him moonlight and cleared his vision slightly.
With his eyes fixed on the moon in the sky, Ian thought,
‘I have always loved her. But maybe I did not deserve her. I hope she will forgive me after my death.‘
Then he closed his eyes slowly.
His mother screamed when she saw her son was moving or opening his eyes.
