Ava was looking at Dane’s wolf.
She pressed her palm, which had already been cut during the fight Dane groaned in pain as her blood touched his wound.
Ava lifted her hands and ignited fire on them. She touched Dane’s wound over his fur with the fire.
Ava could not help but feel that she was losing her strength as the Bealing process took some time to complete.
Her eyes were closed as she tried to give her best to heal Dane and remove his poison.
When she opened her eyes, they turned black.
One hour later
Ava was walking back and forth outside a room. Inside the room were Dane and his private physician, who was treating his wounds. She had done what she needed to do. Now the doctor would have to stitch Dane’s wound.
Beside Ava, Beta Bruno and Freya were standing near the door. Freya was crying. She was concerned that Dane might not make it. She wondered if Ava was really able to remove his poison.
The room door opened, and the doctor stepped out.
His gaze fell on everyone and he smiled at them. Ava sighed with relief when she saw the smile.
“Is he…”
She paused as the doctor nodded his head. “Alpha has shifted back. He wants to see you, Miss Taylor.”
Ava turned her head to Freya who nodded her head and said, “You should go to him. He is yours. You saved him. You deserve to
be with him.”
Beta Bruno lowered his head as he had nothing to oppose. Ava turned away from the siblings and walked into the room.
She did not close the door, so the two people outside could easily see and hear everything.
Ava looked at the man lying on the bed. His half–body was wrapped in the quilt. He had bandages around his waist and arms.
The man’s eyes were opened. So when she approached, his gaze locked on hers.
Ava came to a stop near the bed.
Dane frowned at her, looking into her eyes. “Why did you save me?
His question made Beta Bruno and Freya confused. They hurried inside. Beta Bruno asked, “Alpha, why are you saying that?”
Dane raised his hand to stop him and focused on Ava, who was silently looking at him.
“Why?” he whispered, this time with a soft tone.
A smile curled into Ava’s face, which looked colorless. “Didn’t I promise you that regardless of who is in front of me, I will always choose you? I chose you, Dane.”
Dane let out a shaky breath, patting his hand on the edge of the bed. Ava sat down there calmly.
Dane looked at her for a while before asking, “You knew who was in front of you, right? He was your mate. Did I cage you with my promises so tightly that you had to choose me over him?”
Ava’s calm expression could no longer calm. Thinking about Ian’s painful look in the forest, her eyes scrambled with tears. But she smiled at Dane sadly.
“Isn’t that what the prediction said? You will be killed by your own people? I changed the prediction and saved you. You were aware of this and wanted me to be with you. Your wish came true. Are you happy, Dane?”

“Do you hate me, Ava?” He asked with a trembling tone as if he w breaking down in front of her.
Ava immediately shook her head. “I can never be you, Dane. You were the one who convinced me that I was capable of living independently. I am something too, and I also have the right to live with powers. You showed me who I am. You always took care of me and punished those who tried to hurt me. How can I hate you?”
Dane lifted his hand and tried to touch Ava’s face. She bent down and let him cup her cheek.

“He said his woman loved me, so he did not want her to cry after my death. He actually came to save me for you.”
He returned his gaze to her as he continued, “I have never thought any man can love a woman this much. He risked his life and saved mine from the other Alpha. It was only because of you.”
Tears rolled down her eyes as she returned her gaze to the mattress.
“Ava, you knew if you did not save him, he would die. Why didn’t you save him?”
Ava wiped her tears and gave him a smile,
“Didn’t you say we should follow our fate? I followed my fate, and I know where it will take us.”
Dane stared at her, trying to read her eyes. At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
They turned their heads and found Freya.
She walked into the room and bowed her head to Dane.
“Alpha, I am leaving this pack. I wish you and Ava a great life together. I hope no one will come between you again. You two are made for each other.”
Dane stared at Freya in silence. His eyes were
focused on her, which she could feel.
Beta Bruno walked into the room and stood next to Freya. “I am sending her to the-”
Ava stood up from the bed, interrupting Bruno.
Ava took a step toward Freya. Freya raised her gaze to look at her.
With a smile on her face, Ava inquired,
“Where will you go after leaving your mate? Don’t you know he needs you now? If you leave, all of his plans to …ake you his Luna will be a waste.”
Freya was dumbfounded. “W–What?”
Ava moved to hug Freya and patted her back. “You had to bear a lot Freya. It’s time to feel his love for you. In the party, we made choices to follow our fate, and his fate is you.”
Freya broke the hug with wide eyes. “R–Really?”

Dane chuckled and hugged her back. “What could I have done? You told me to choose my fate on my birthday. I had no choice but to choose you.”
Ava felt pleased to see them together. She turned around and found Beta Bruno, looking at her. “Thank you, Ava.”
Ava patted his shoulder and was about to leave. Freya broke the hug and turned to Ava, stopping her from behind.
“You brought us together, Ava. But what about the man who loved you daringly? I am feeling guilty that you could not save him. I am truly sorry, Ava. Because of my mate, your mate had to die…”
