It was late at night.
Ian opened his eyes as the bright light of the room hit his eyelids.e blinked, trying to clear his vision.
He was lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by his family.
His mother, Carolina, burst into tears when she saw her son awake She hugged him and said,

His father, Alpha Martin, patted his shoulder, saying,
“You are a brave man. I am very proud to be your father.”
Ian was taken aback by what his father had said. It was the first time he said anything like that. Even when he took the pack business to the higher position, he did not say something like that. Even if he had said that before, it did not seem to come from the bottom of his heart. But today, Ian saw a broken father looking at him with love and concern in his eyes for his son.
“Mom and Dad, I am fine.”
He said, trying to calm them down. His eyes moved to his friends who were standing on the other side of the bed.
Ronald and Stephen smiled at him, their eyes full of pride.
Ian’s eyes shifted to Ava’s parents and her friends; that was when everything hit his mind.
Everything that had happened before he closed his eyes came flooding back to his mind.
But he did not say anything and remained silent, assuming what might happen.
He looked at the ceiling while thinking,
‘He chose Dane over me.‘
The doctor instructed them to leave because the patient needed to rest. His wound had yet to heal.
The only people inside the room with Ian were Ronald and Stephen.
“Ian”
Ronald’s voice could not move Ian’s eyes from the ceiling. He asked,
“Is she okay after saving Dane?”
Both of his friends were shocked. “You are still thinking about her Even after knowing that she chose to live with Dane?”
Ronald asked.
Ian smiled as he closed his eyes.
“Who has control over love? I can’t control my heart, can I?”
Ronald lowered his head, afraid that his best friend would only be in pain seeing his woman without another man.
Stephen broke the silence as he spoke.
“But she did not choose only Dane when it came to your lives.”
Ian opened his eyes and turned to him. “It’s okay. I don’t mind it. She saved him because her heart wanted it.”
Stephen shook his head. “No, Ian. She knew you would be saved.”
Ian frowned as he asked, “What do you mean?”

Ronald gave Stephen a nod and explained,
“You are saved because of the blood running in your body.”
Ian could not understand what they were saying, “I don’t know what you two are Stephen took a deep breath and replied,

A knock on the door prompted him to pause. He did not care to turn his head to see who had come, assuming it could be the doctor or nurses.
“You?”
Ronald’s surprised voice echoed through the room, causing Ian to turn his head.
He froze when he saw Dane at the door. His forehead was bandaged. By seeing his loose shirt, it looked like his arms and waist were also bandaged.
Ian was surprised to see him there.
“Alpha Dane, why are you here?” Stephen asked, thinking that he had come to mock his friend.
When Dane pulled someone ahead from behind, everyone was taken aback.
That person was Ava!
Her head was lowered as she fixed her gaze on the floor.
“Ava?”
Stephen tried to step toward her. But Dane held her hand and walked toward the bed. Ava kept her head down.
Ian’s eyes were on Ava. He felt his heart clench inside upon seeing her again. She was with another man; she had already chosen that man.
He smiled at her and asked,
“Why is your head lowered? You saved two Alphas at the same time. Shouldn’t you be proud of yourself?”
When Ian saw Ava was not responding, he turned his gaze to Dane and said,
“Why did you bring her here? To meet me and say goodbye? Take good care of yourself and her. I am leaving this pack tomorrow.

Dane shook his head while looking into lan’s eyes.
“You are a fool, Ian Dawson. You can’t even read a woman’s eyes but can go and support your rival for her?”
lan was confused. Dane raised his hand, held Ava’s shoulder, and spoke,
“It is time to break all of the promises you and your father made to me and my parents. Tonight, I set you free from every cage.”

Jan caught Ava when she fell on his chest. Before he could react, Dane spoke again,
