The whole car went silent. Ian’s words left Ava stunned. Her eyes froze as she gazed out the window.
Stephen turned his head to look at Jan.
“Can you please shut up?”
Jan smirked as he observed Ava’s side profile. Ronald patted Stephen’s shoulder.
“Why are you putting yourself between them? Your sister is capable of dealing with him.”
Ava turned her head to look at Ronald. “Would you kindly ask your friend to refrain from speaking with me? I am over him.”
Ronald glanced at Ava and gave her a cheeky smile. “Do you believe anyone has any control over him? Even his parents struggled to keep him under control. Who are we to have the power to do that?”
Aftersaying that, Ronald burst out laughing.
The three people in the car looked at Ronald with serious expressions.
Ronald realized that and cleared his throat. “Oh, wasn’t that funny?”
“No, not at all,” Ava replied.
The car began to move as Stephen refocused his attention on the road and began driving.
The ride was silent.
Ava did not move her head and tried to remain still in her seat.
She sensed Ian approaching her abruptly. She looked at him and realized he was closer to her than before. He seemed to move his body, and his leg came to brush against her.
She moved her leg so it did not come into contact with him. But once again he moved closer. She closed her eyes in annoyance and turned to look directly into his eyes.
“What?” she asked in a low tone.
“What what?” he questioned back as he leaned to her and whispered.
She was about to push him with her hand, but he grabbed it and started looking at it.
“My brother is in the car, and you have the audacity to bother me!” She whispered angrily.
She noticed Stephen glancing in the rearview mirror. She felt embarrassed.
“What happened to your hand?” he asked with a desperate tone.
Ava frowned at his question and looked down at her hand. He was examining her palm. She took a careful look at it.
There were a few red lines visible in her palm, indicating that she had been hurt before and had healed.
It came as a surprise to Ava.
She had no idea when she got hurt. She gave it some thought and found a possibility.
It could be when she was trying to help Stephen by untying the silver rope. She felt pain, and her hand hurt a lot at that time.

However, how did her wound heal? She could still remember that when she was with Ian after the fight, she did not feel any pain in her han!.
Ian brushed his palm over her palm, causing her to feel ticklish. She yanked her hand away from his grip and fisted it.
She brought her hand close to her chest and began to think about how the wound had healed.
“So what is your strategy for this time, Ian?” Ronald asked Jan.
Ronald’s question was out of the blue. It was clear that he asked to calm the atmosphere inside the car.
Ian gave Ava a stern look. He did not like how she snatched her hand away from him, but she let that Luke guy touch her, even though she hugged him.
His eyes shifted to her hand again, and they softened.
He tried to move his focus away from Ava and looked at Ronald.
“What strategy? I am going to win this game,” Ian replied confidently.
Ava was lost in her thoughts. She could not hear the others conversations. She was thinking about the guy with the green eyes.
Why was he so eager to see her? What exactly did he want to talk about? What did he do to her? What was that? What did he do with her forehead?
She raised her hand and touched between her brows. She was totally fine. Then why did she feel like his touch was still on her forehead?
So many questions were running inside her head. She thought she was going crazy.
The car reached Gamma Harper’s house.
“Let’s go.”
Stephen and Ronald got out of the car, headed to the house.
Ava was lost in her thoughts and Ian was in her. So none of them got out of the car. (1
Ian’s eyes were scanning her face and expression like a predator.
“What happened to you?” Ian asked in a low tone, getting that she was thinking something deep.
“I am thinking about that boy. His green eyes had something that caught my attention. It was like he was trying to tell me something. I had seen him before, and he did the same thing then. Today, the way he touched my forehead, I just-”
Ava paused as she struggled to find the right word to explain
However, when she felt a pair of hands cupping her cheeks and turning her face, she realized she was with Ian and talking to him.
She immediately grabbed his wrists to remove his hands from her cheeks. But he tightened his grip and leaned in
her face.
His eyes were on her forehead, and he asked,
“Did you just say he touched you? In your forehead? How dare he!”

Ian’s angry tone almost shook Ava from the inside. She frowned at him and asked,
“Why do you care if someone touches me? Just leave me.”
He looked into her eyes and replied,
“I don’t like to repeat myself. That Luke guy is not even my competition. So, now you are trying to get closer to that wizard?”
Ava’s eyebrows raised as she realized she had almost forgotten about it.
She pushed Ian’s hands away from her cheeks. “Faccepted Luke into my heart. We are dating.”
Ian clenched his fists. “What did you just say? Dating? Since when?”
“From today. I was the one who asked him to date me. I want him.”
Ava could see Ian’s eyes dårken. She flinched when he punched the seat in front of him.
“So you want him? Even after so many warnings of mine, you still want him?”
“Yes, I like Luke and—”

Ian interrupted her as he leaned close to her face. She gulped as his dark eyes pierced on hers.
“And I like you,” he murmured as if completing her sentence.
He tilted his head and kissed her cheek, then muttered,
“I realized it after I rejected you. I really like you, Ava.”
