A relieving chill ran down my spine when 1 heard Xander’s car pull into the driveway, I looked out of the window to confirm it was him, and a smile formed on my lips.
Excitedly, I began calculating his movement.

My husband was a man of perfection, and I wanted to treat him that way on our special night before announcing the big news which made my stomach bubble with excitement.
It was our third wedding anniversary and I had set up a candlelight dinner all on my own for two special reasons.

Clutching to my chest the pregnancy test result that I had picked up from the hospital two days ago, my smile spread into a grin. I had waited all day for this moment, to reveal to Xander that we were having a baby.
It has been two weeks since I suspected so after experiencing a few funky reactions. While I waited in the doctor’s office to get tested, I already had a hint of what was happening.
The thought that I could be pregnant was the first thing that settled in my mind before I grasped the result from the doctor. With a professional smile, he confirmed my suspicion.
Bashfully, I recalled the moment that led to this result. Xander had always been careful whenever we had sex. If he didn’t use protection, he ensured that I used my birth control pills but one careless drunk night changed everything. That night, he was drunk from a function and heavily aroused. When we got house, he gave me little to no warning and the next moment, we were in bed having sex.
I was glad that he came to me to fulfill his sexual needs, instead of meeting a random fling.

I was disappointed that he seemed to have forgotten but I maintained my smile.
“I have something to tell you,” I put his stuff away and wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning in for a kiss but he turned his face

My brows narrowed in confusion.
“I love something to tell you too, Mia,” His tone was icy, a serious expression clouding his undeniably dashing face.

“You go first then.” I tried to sound cheerful despite Xander’s sour mood that had me worrying.
“She’s back.”
Those two words hit me like a time bomb. The two words I had prayed relentlessly never to hear from him.
