Chapter 22
Auto stepped closer, his desperation radiating off him in waves. All the punishmen from his grandfather, all the ding ved he felt too farpar More we to the moment seeing the woman he’d thought about every single night, he wanted to rips his heart our of his chest and any rompletely he’d changed.
But his pathetic display only made Iliana’s expression grow colder. The disgust and complete indifference in her eyes was like taking a krofe on the fest
“I think you should step back, Mr Blake.” Nathan smoothly stepped between them, his voice cutting with contempt. “If Ellans wanted anything to đá with you, she wouldn’t have disappeared for two years. I don’t know what happened between you two, but Eliana’s an incredibile person. You mier have done something pretty unforgivable to end up here.”
The words hit Milo like a physical blow. His eyes burned as he watched Nathan protect Eliana so effortlessly while she stand confidently behind hire letting herself be defended.
Was this what she’d always needed? Someone who actually gave a damn about her?
The realization was devastating. Unable to stand it anymore, Milo forced himself to step back, but he didn’t leave. For the entire gala, he stalked Bliana’s every movement with desperate, hungry eyes, completely ignoring Harper’s presence. Now that Eliana had rejected Harper’s pathetic apology, the woman was absolutely fucking useless to him.
When the evening ended and Eliana walked out with Nathan like Milo didn’t even exist, he finally looked away, his heart shattered into pieces.
Harper immediately scrambled toward him.
“Milo, look–Eliana obviously has her own thing going now. Maybe you can finally move on? We could still make this work between us…”
Desperate hope flickered in her eyes.
But the moment he focused on her, Milo’s expression turned glacial.
“Get out of my sight.”
“What?” Harper’s eyes went wide with shock, her face draining of color.
“I said get lost. Eliana doesn’t want your bullshit apology. You’re completely useless to me now.”
His voice was flat, emotionless–like he was discussing the weather.,
Harper couldn’t process it. She grabbed at her stomach frantically.
“But I’m pregnant! I’m carrying your baby!”
Milo didn’t even flinch–no surprise, no anger, nothing. He glanced at her belly with mild annoyance.
“Yeah, I figured. Get rid of it. I’ll wire you enough money to disappear forever. We’re done here.”
“No! Milo, please!” Harper’s voice cracked as tears started streaming. “I’m having your child–doesn’t that mean anything? Can’t you just forget about her? We were so good together before! We can start over!”
She was spiraling into full hysteria, unable to imagine what would happen if Milo cut her off completely. She had literally nothing without him. Harper dropped to her knees on the ballroom floor, sobbing as she grabbed at his legs, but Milo just looked exhausted.
Ever since Eliana left, he’d finally seen his own heart clearly. He’d only kept Harper around as insurance for when he found Eliana again–a tool to show how sorry he was. Now that strategy had exploded in his face, Harper was worse than worthless.
As for the pregnancy–it was just a fucking accident. He felt absolutely nothing for that potential child. The only person he’d ever wanted kids with
was Eliana.
He stared down at Harper’s pathetic display with bone–deep weariness.
“Isn’t it better this way? We’ve been destroying each other for years. Just let it end.”

Chapter 22
But Harper kept clawing at him desperately, shaking her head through her sobs like a madwoman.
Her breakdown didn’t move him at all. He pried her hands off his legs and walked away, leaving her collapsed on the marble floor like discarded
trash
He hadn’t given her a single genuine moment of his attention.
Only after his figure completely vanished did Harper lift her head, mascara streaking down her cheeks.
Pure, burning hatred filled her eyes. She wanted to destroy Eliana for ruining everything by coming back now. If she’d been able to have the baby, would things have been different?
She also despised Milo with every fiber of her being. Without him, she never would have fallen this far. This was all his fucking fault!
He’d promised to love and protect her, then the second Eliana disappeared, he’d shown his true colors and let the entire internet tear her apart.
She fantasized about killing them both, her eyes falling on a serving knife left by the catering staff. Multiple times she considered grabbing it, but she was too much of a coward.
She had no power left to take risks like that.
Eliana was a celebrated designer with her own empire. Milo controlled billions. Harper was just discarded garbage with nowhere to go.
Finally, she curled up on the cold floor, clutching her stomach and sobbing until she was empty.
A week later, she followed Milo’s orders and terminated the pregnancy. As her flesh and blood was sucked from her body, her eyes burned red with grief and rage, but she was powerless to stop any of it.
When she stumbled out of the clinic, she found a wire transfer in her account–more money than most people saw in a lifetime.
But Harper’s future would never hold light again. She’d gambled everything on a man who’d never really loved her, and now she had nothing left but blood money and the bitter taste of her own choices.
