This news hit Cathy like a bolt of lightning!
She came running back for Calix, even after his recent cold attitude, she wasn’t too desperate. But now, it’s obvious that Calix is suggesting canceling the divorce with Anya?
Certainly, everything is part of Anya’s trap!
She quietly curled her fingers, her palm pierced by her nails, blood trickling.
Cathy’s bright face was now filled with intense hatred.
“I finally brought the child back. How could I leave Calix because of you?”
Her voice was extremely calm, as if she was talking about something unimportant, but her lips were cold and sent shivers down one’s spine!
After a while, she arrived at her computer, opened a message that had been lying in her inbox for a few days, quickly skimmed through it, and clicked on one of the links…
Anya’s perspective
Even though I had no plans to work in Starlight Media, as the owner, I decided to visit the company for a stroll.
Fredrica, dressed in a simple white shirt and trousers, saw me and waved enthusiastically, “An extreme hot trending, related to your ex–husband. Are you interested?”
“Not really,” I pretended to be disinterested, holding a report and looking down.
Fredrica sighed with boredom, followed suit, and sat down.
Completely forgetting my “lack of interest”, she started talking, “Last night, Cathy’s computer was hacked, and a lot of things were leaked.”
“I heard it’s related to some shady contracts. This has caused a lot of trouble. If it’s true, Cathy’s done for this time.”

The news was indeed explosive.

Back then, I and Calix had an unexplainable one–night stand, and while we were dealing with the aftermath, the news leaked accidentally.
I was caught red–handed by the reporters, lying in bed with disheveled clothes, and a man under the covers, an extremely embarrassing scene.
“Back then, Cathy and Calix were publicly engaged, and the whole country knew! She’s also a public figure in the entertainment industry. Have you seen any famous person deceive the public and still stand on the screen?”
“When I was treated coldly, mocked, and misunderstood by the Quinn family, I was still happy overseas, maintaining my reputation and responding to various events. Not only did I not say a word of gratitude, but I also played the victim in everything. Is anyone shameless like that?”

Knowing that Fredrica was arguing for me, I turned and hugged her, “Thank you, my good sister.”
“Thank you isn’t enough; I want to celebrate with a pizza. Lots of cheese, please!” Fredrica took advantage of the strategy.
“Sure, let’s have pizza, extra cheese.” I immediately took out my mobile phone, opened a food app. and searched for nearby pizza restaurants.
Just then, the phone rang.
It was a call from Karina’s kindergarten teacher.
I quickly answered, “Hello, is it because Karina is unwell that you called me at this time?”
“No.” On the other end, the teacher’s voice was hesitant. “You see, the child’s father is here and wants
to take the child… Can you here for a moment?”
Hearing that Calix would take Karina, I was quite surprised.
Shouldn’t he be in a hurry to handle the leaked contracts with Cathy now?
What does he want when taking Karina away?
I didn’t have the mind to think much, I just told Fredrica a few words and hurried to the
kindergarten.
Upon arrival, I couldn’t find Karina.
The nursery teacher shrugged helplessly, “The child’s father wants to take the child away for sure. His identity… our nursery is unable to meddle with him, so…”
I had warned the teacher beforehand to be cautious about any moves from the Quinn family. Except for me and Fredrica, no one was allowed to take Karina away.
Yet, the result was still…
I couldn’t understand how he could take the child away after I had said so much.
Knowing that the teacher had tried, I didn’t complain; instead, I said, “Let me handle this.”
The Quinn family’s house was simple, elegant, and prosperous for generations, a paradise that many people yearned for.
As I stepped inside, I didn’t find it beautiful; instead, I felt sorrowful. Without Karina, I would never want to step in here again.
The butler looked at me, a hesitant expression on his face. “Are you Mrs… Anya?”
“Uncle Alex, I’m looking for Calix.” I politely said.
Although the owner of this family didn’t want to meet me, the staff was kind.
“Master told me you’re not allowed in.” Uncle Alex shook his head reluctantly.
I didn’t force it but said, “Then, please tell Calix that if I call the police or contact the reporters, I will make a scene, and everyone will be looking. He probably wouldn’t want the Quinn family’s affairs to appear in the news.”
Perhaps my words had an effect.
A few minutes later, I caught sight of Calix.
He was dressed in black.
His face looked darker, and there were dark circles under his eyes, making it difficult to get close.
I didn’t want to waste time with him, I quickly approached and asked anxiously, “Where is Karina?
Why…”
“Don’t come looking for Karina. She doesn’t need a mother without discipline!”
Before I could finish, Calix said coldly.

Calix didn’t want to say any unnecessary words to me and ordered the butler Alex.
Then he turned and went inside.
A heavy sense of oppression rushed over my heart.
I had accused him many times and pretended to be righteous.
He had done enough dirty things behind my back.
I still felt remorseful towards him; everything was futile!
Butler Alex was unwilling to have us chased away by the bodyguards.
Being inexplicably robbed of my daughter and labeled as “disorderly conduct,” I couldn’t understand.
But I didn’t fight back against the bodyguards.
I was thrown out of the door.

The door in front closed.
A door separated me from Karina’s world.
At this moment, I couldn’t help but worry, thinking that Karina inside the house might be scared, my eyes suddenly turned red!
“Uncle Alex, do you know what’s going on?” Burying my worries in my heart, I could only turn to the
butler Alex for help.
