If Calix was the most adept at business among the second–generation wealthy, then Robin was the best at racing–professional racing, to be precise.

The implication was that Robin and Anya had no relationship at all. Calix stopped not because of Anya’s face, but rather out of consideration for Fredrica. Cathy said this both in words and in her
mind.
Regardless of the changes in Anya’s appearance and temperament after the divorce, she couldn’t change the fact that she was the daughter of a shoemaker. A girl from a small and ordinary family could never reach the pinnacle of society or achieve anything significant. There was no need to be nervous about such an insignificant woman.
With this in mind, she took the initiative to hook her arm around Calix’s and said, “Since we’ve run into Robin, let’s go over and say hello.”
Calix barely made a sound in response. The two walked towards Robin together. Anya saw their figures out of the corner of her eye, but she didn’t even acknowledge them. The conversation with Fredrica continued, with her taking the lead on the topics.

He never knew that a person could change so drastically. Anya’s transformation was like a magic trick, and the difference was immeasurable. He still vividly remembered her standing with lowered head on the path he had to pass, and when she saw him, her eyes showed caution, hope, affection, and a hint of longing.

“Calix, Robin is calling you,” Cathy gently told him, and he snapped back to his senses, raising his expressionless face.
Cathy was looking at him awkwardly. Although she had a smile on her face, she couldn’t conceal the embarrassment beneath her brows. Him being absent–minded in front of Robin was like a slap in her face. Despite it being her supposed happiest day, she tasted more bitterness and frustration.

“Robin,” Calix spoke calmly, calling out his cousin’s name.
Robin had his hands in his pockets, looking at Calix with interest. “Calix, you’ve become quite murderous since the divorce. What’s going on?” He smiled in a nonchalant way, raising an eyebrow slightly. This expression appeared indifferent, but it carried an underlying meaning that made Cathy uncomfortable.
What did he mean by “murderous“? What did he mean by him being more murderous after the divorce? Was he implying that Calix wasn’t happy because of his divorce from Anya?
“Calix is now in charge of a major creative company, and every decision he makes has a significant impact on the company. Being decisive and firm has become a part of his nature, which may seem serious at times,” Cathy explained in a soft tone, suppressing her displeasure. She leaned closer to Calix, silently hinting at their relationship.
Seeing her actions, Robin smiled knowingly and nodded. Then, she asked, “By the way, what did Fredrica want from you? Did she want you, the great Buddha, to visit her livestream room?”
“No,” Robin shook his head.
Cathy was about to change the topic, but he added, “I was the one who contacted them.”
“You… contacted them?” Cathy’s heart skipped a beat as she looked at Robin in disbelief. Robin’s decision to reach out to Anya and Fredrica was unexpected, given his previous attitude of superiority towards Calix. This… was simply unbelievable.
Robin didn’t elaborate on this topic further and turned to look at Calix. “We recently organized a small–scale competition for racing drivers. Calix, are you interested in participating?”
“Not interested,” Calix replied with a faint gaze. His eyes had been injured before, and such high–intensity activities were not suitable for him.
“I want to go, Calix,” Cathy said, but she secretly felt relieved. Thankfully, Robin only contacted Fredrica and had no relationship with Anya.
She shook Calix’s arm and continued, “Why don’t you accompany me?”
In her heart, she also wanted to use this opportunity to let people in their circle know that she and
Calix had reconciled.
“It’s indeed worth going,” Robin said with a playful look at Calix, “There might be some unexpected surprises in this competition.”
