I watched as Cathy tightened her brows, her fingers gripping even harder.
“Since you want to take part in the race, then let’s have a proper showdown of our skills. Of course, it’s also a chance for you to make a fool of yourself! Although Fredrica ranks first among the co–drivers, it’s not her who’s driving. No matter how talented she is, without an excellent main
driver, it’s all for nothing!”
Casey had a hint of a sarcastic smile on the corner of his mouth. It seemed that he had already seen
the scene of me, a novice, being in a flurry on the track.
After saying that, she swayed her soft and tender waist and walked away. “Anya is too stubborn, and I couldn’t persuade her. There’s nothing we can do,” she said to Calix as she got closer to him,
shrugging her shoulders as if she was really helpless.
Calix didn’t say a word and just walked off to another place. The draw ended quickly, and then Fredrica came back. I gave Fredrica the results of the draw, and in return, she handed me the race
information she’d collected.
“Those young masters who got drawn into your group were just complaining. Just wait; you’ll show
them what a real master can do!” Fredrica said.
I just gave a faint smile. “If I were to drive from the start, could you guarantee that we’d make it to
the finals?”
Fredrica pointed at herself. “Me? Darling Anya, you…”
“If I show all my cards right from the start, where’s the fun in that?” I lazily interrupted her, even squinting my eyes. I must have looked like a lazy yet dangerous cat. “How about we switch? I’ll be the main driver, and you can be the co–driver.”
Fredrica couldn’t help but curse, “Damn!” But the next moment, she gave me a thumbs–up. “That’s bold! Whoever goes up against you is in for a tough time!”

It was almost time for our group to take part in the selection race, and we were all getting ourselves ready mentally. Despite seeming like she didn’t care, Cathy couldn’t help but sneak a look in our
direction.
Cathy saw that I was still sitting motionless in the co–pilot’s seat and couldn’t help but sneer to herself. She seemed to have figured out that I was a Cainiao, waiting for me to make a fool of myself on the track.

“Got it!” Fredrica fastened her seatbelt, her hands firmly gripping the steering wheel. When the starting gun fired, she slammed the accelerator to the floor.
As a co–driver, Fredrica was really aware of what was going on around her. I provided the technical guidance, “Accelerate! Stay close to the line! Steady…”

Following my instructions, the car smoothly moved along the track, staying right on the racing line.
A few minutes later, it was over. The final results showed that, even though we weren’t in first place, Fredrica and our team had made it to the finals.
“Didn’t I do well, sis?” Fredrica showed me the final ranking that had been sent to her phone. We were last among the finalists.
I let out a light chuckle. “Indeed, you did.”
In the distance, Cathy smiled silently with a smile on the corner of her mouth. With such a bottom result, even if she enters the finals, she can’t make any waves.

While I was lost in thought, I suddenly heard a clear voice calling Cathy’s name. “Cathy, I challenge you!”
The one speaking was none other than Fredrica herself. She lifted her chin, wearing a smile that seemed challenging despite looking cheerful.
Cathy must have felt disdain in her heart, but she didn’t say anything and just covered her mouth with a smile.
“How funny! You ranked last, and yet you dare to challenge Cathy?” Wilson, who was on Cathy’s side, said in a scornful voice.
Still smiling, Fredrica didn’t get angry. She didn’t look at Cathy or Wilson and just walked straight up to Calix. “Calix, what do you think?”
Fredrica’s behavior wasn’t very graceful and was really out of character. Everyone knew she was my friend, so they thought she was just standing up for me, and nobody said anything more.
Calix had an indifferent look in his eyes and didn’t even glance at Fredrica. “It’s your own decision.”
“That’s good.” Fredrica came back and then turned to Cathy again. “Cathy, are you afraid?”
“Afraid?” Cathy must have thought Fredrica was really ridiculous. Even though she ranked first among the female drivers, how could she be afraid of Fredrica?

“My skills might not be enough, but someone else’s might be.” Fredrica pushed me forward. “Cathy, are you willing to accept the challenge?”
I was speechless for a moment.
What kind of friend was Fredrica? She put me and Cathy in the same group. Should I really go all out, or should I hold back a bit?
Fredrica gave my shoulder a little squeeze, and the message was clear: She came here to humiliate Cathy, and of course, Calix too.
Cathy’s expression turned really dark. There was even a touch of anger in her eyes. Fredrica could barely make it to the finals herself, and now she was pushing me to join?
