Chapter 104
While the rooms at Aiden’s place had more luxurious vibe, Ella’s rooms were more of a farmhouse style design. A single bed stood in the middle with two small white wooden nightstands. On each nightstand there was a lamp, two neatly stacked books, and a potted plant. A large tan rug covered the majority of the dark wooden hardwood flooring. The walls were also painted a light blue with a hint of gray, and there was an abstract painting of a meadow hanging above the bed. It definitely had a homey vibe to it.
Deciding to check my phone before hopping in the shower, I saw there was unread message from my mom.
Mom: Won’t be able to get another flight out until at least tomorrow. Love you – xoxo
I sent her a quick reply back before going to check out the bathroom.
Scarlett: Okay. Love you too. Be safe.
The bathroom was a lot simpler in design than the bedroom. A single white vanity set lined the wall on the far right with a circular mirror above it. On the side, a glass shower with gorgeous white subway tiles and splashes of marble took up the entire wall. The hardware was all black, giving it an nice contrast in the all–white bathroom. The few shelves that were nailed into the wall had fluffy white towels neatly folded, or green potted plants and a mix of
candles.
After my shower, I quickly changed into the clothes Ella has let me borrow – a pair of old black leggings and an oversized sweatshirt from when she was probably pregnant. As I lay in bed staring at the unmoving fan, I surprisingly wasn’t tired at all.
Tossing and turning always made me restless, so I decided to get up and make my way downstairs to get a glass of water. When I walk into the kitchen, I find Aiden sitting at the kitchen island scrolling through his phone aimlessly while eating ice cream out of the tub. And the best part – he was shirtless!
My stomach did a backflip when he looked up and acknowledged my presence.
I try to remain unphased by his appearance as I opened the fridge and grabbed the Brita filer to fill my glass. “Don’t you own a shirt?”
“I like to sleep naked.” Aiden said causing me to knock over the glass I was currently in the process of filling. The water went everywhere, including on my clothes.
I glare at Aiden who is trying to stifle his laughter. “I’m totally kidding, but that look on your face was so worth it.” Aiden laughs.
Funny my ass!
I grab the roll of paper towel to soak up the water, when I feel Aiden’s presence behind me. His body is rad heat, and I can feel my heart racing while I struggle to breath properly at his close proximity.
His arm extends over mine to dab up the spilled water, and I can feel his breathing behind me. His fingers brush against mine for a brief second – but still it’s enough to send shivers down my spine, shivers that make my whole

body tremble under his touch.
How the hell do I always get myself stuck in these sort of situations.
My heart beats faster and faster as Aiden grabs hold of my waist and spins me around so that my back is now against the cool granite counter. His eyes draw me to him and my breathing slows – it all happened in slow motion.
One minute I was looking up at him, and the next his lips were on mine. I couldn’t tell you who initiated it – and in that moment I didn’t care because all I wanted was for his lingering touch to continue.
I reached up and pulled him down closer, kissing him like crazy like our lives depended on it. His tongue flicked over my bottom lip, demanding access which I eagerly grant. When his tongue slips into my mouth, it’s nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Its urgent, yet demanding and I couldn’t stop myself from becoming engrossed in this feeling.
As my fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, Aiden groans softly tightening his hold on my waist and lifting me up so that I am now sitting on the counter with him nuzzled in between my legs. Still kissing, Aiden continues to press himself against me, and I inhale the prominent smell of his cologne mixed with hints of sandalwood aftershave.
Wait – he’s wearing the cologne I got for him.
I was shopping with Caroline last week, and we were wondering around Macy’s when one of the sales representatives shoved a smelling card in my face. I typically just pocket them and toss them once we’re out of the store but this one had captured my attention. It was the new Chanel Blue they had just released and it smelled to die for,
. I instantly knew it would be a great gift for Aiden. It was a woody aromatic fragrance, with a combination of aromatic herbs and opulent center and base the perfect fresh and clean smell with just the right amount of masculinity.
As his tongue continues to dance with mine, I can taste hints of the cookies and cream ice cream he was eating earlier when I came in.
