Chapter 67
“I didn’t expect to see you here, Princess.” Aiden whispered in my ear. His voice sent shivers down my spine.
“The feeling is mutual.” I replied. I turned slightly so that I could look at him only to be met with his eyes already on me.
A small smile was tugging at the corners of his mouth. “And what are you supposed to be? One of the bunnies from the Playboy Mansion?”
“Very funny.” I scoffed. I then gestured to his costume. “Have you come to take me to my rightful place in hell?” Aiden was dressed as the Grim Reaper I presumed, since he was sporting the whole black cloak but minus the sword.
“I wasn’t kidding.” He smirked. I also noticed that he had yet to remove his hand from where it was resting on my lower back. I found the gesture be comforting.
“You didn’t tell me you were throwing a party.” I cleared my throat. Was it hot in here, or was it just
me?
He shrugged. “I wasn’t going to. But then Lucas wouldn’t shup up until I agreed to it. Plus, my parents are out of town this weekend, so the timing was perfect.”
I nodded. Before I could say anything else, someone shouted Aiden’s name from across the room. He looked down at me apologetically before reluctantly letting go of my waist and disappearing into the
crowd.
“You and Aiden seemed cozy.” Brooke nudged me.
I rolled my eyes in response. “It’s the alcohol impairing your judgement.”
“Oh my god I love this song!.” Caroline shrieked as she grabbed mine and Brooke’s hand and dragged us to the makeshift dance floor that was once the living room.
“Oh, I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody

With somebody who loves me”
Now, I know I said I disliked parties, but I have a whole new type of dislike towards dancing. The moment my brain hears the word dance, it like it freezes and my body forgets how to move. Me dancing, is like a fucking statue dancing.
I tried to resist embarrassing myself in front of our entire school, but Caroline and Brooke were having none of it.
I would just like to apologize to anyone and everyone that has every had to see me dance. I know you will probably never recover from that traumatizing experience.
I managed to last through Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie before I was all danced out.
“I’m going to go to the restroom!” I shouted over the loud speakers.
I made my way down the hall to the downstairs bathroom first but the line was too long. I decided to
take my chances with the upstairs bathroom, however, I wish I had waited instead.
“Look what the cat dragged in!” Came a snarly high pitched voice. She was hanging out with
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum at the top of the second floor landing and the moment she saw me,
she came charging on.
“Veronica.” I replied as I attempted to push past her, however, my efforts were left in vain as she
side stepped and was in front of me again.
I resisted the urge to just headbutt her so she could get out of my way. “You seem to know your way well around this house.” She sneered. “Have you been here often? I mean I would imagine so, having
Aiden come to your rescue all the time.”
“Tell me, does it ever get tiring being so pathetic?” She continued laughing.
“At least tell me if the sex is good!” She yelled after me. “I might want to give it a try.”
“Enjoy my sloppy seconds.” I yelled back as I stuck my middle finger up before slamming the
bathroom door shut.
After cooling off, I headed back downstairs, however, this time straight for the kitchen. I grabbed one of the unused red solo cups in there and poured it half full of a random bottle of tequila and mixed it with orange juice. Taking a sip, I felt the odd burning sensation of alcohol down my throat, Over all it wasn’t half bad, but it was definitely strong.

Chapter 67
Two drinks in, I was talking to some random girl about what she was going to study in college when
I decided it was time to find Caroline and Brooke.
Brooke was the first one I spotted, she was emersed into a deep conversation with some of the volleyball girls from her team. “Brookie!” I said as I walked over to her.
She seemed confused at my sudden outburst. “Nat? Are you drunk?”
“Meee?” I asked. “Neeverr.”
“Are you okay?” She asked, concerned.
“I’ve never beeenn bett–eer!” I slurred, taking another sip of my drink. “This is reallyyyyy good!” I
motioned to the cup I was holding.
“Okay!” Brooke smirked taking my hand and walking us back into the kitchen. “Let’s get you some
coffee.”
“I’m hungry!” I groaned situating myself in one of the barstools at the kitchen island.
A few hours later, and I was finally starting to feel more like myself again. The food and coffee from earlier definitely helped.
“Hey, Brooke?” I asked, nursing a Coke. “Where’s Caroline?”
Brooke shrugged in response. “I have no idea. She disappeared a while ago.”
