Chapter 68
“There you guys are!” Caroline’s voice echoed from behind us.
Speaking of the devil.
She took a seat on the barstool next to me. Yes, we were still in the kitchen. There is no need to judge the fact that I spent 80% of my time at this party in the kitchen.
“You look different.” I said as I examined her. I couldn’t quite place my finger on it, but there was
something about her. Her hair was messier than when we arrived, and she wasn’t wearing lipstick
anymore.
“Oh my god!” I yelped. “You totally got laid!”
A few people around us whipped their heads in our direction, trying to figure out who did in fact get
laid out of the three of us.
“Shut up!” Caroline rolled her eyes as she elbowed me in the side.
“You didn’t deny it!” I exclaimed bumping my shoulder with hers.
“Nat here, has had too much to drink tonight.” Brooke added. “That’s why she’s more hyper than
usual.”
“You didn’t!” Caroline shrieked. “I thought you didn’t drink?”
“Don’t try to change the subject!” I quickly diverted the attention back on her. “Who’s the guy. We need to know if he’s good enough for you!”
“You’re definitely drunk.” Caroline laughed.
A few moments later, Lucas appeared out of nowhere. “You guys doing okay? Do you need
anything?”
Strange. His tie was crooked.
It was just past 1 am and people were finally starting to leave. Eventually it was just a small

us that remained. Who knew parties lasted this long?
My eyes were starting to feel droopy from how tired I was. I was just about to get up and walk over to Caroline to see when we were leaving when Lucas and Aiden walked into the living room carrying a bunch of board games. I managed to make out Twister, Jenga and Cards Against Humanity in the pile.
Aiden had also gotten rid of his Grim Reaper cloak and was wearing his usual jeans and t–shirt.
“Let the real fun begin!” Lucas shouted. Clearly he’s had a drink or two as well.
“Real fun?” I asked.
“Patience, my grasshopper!” Lucas replied patting my head.
“Stop that!” I said, swatting his hand away.
I watched amused as Lucas attempted to set up the twister mat all on his own. For some reason, he was having a lot of trouble with it.
Aiden came out of nowhere and pushed him aside, resulting in Lucas falling flat on his ass.
“Rude!” He complained, meanwhile Aiden just gave him the finger.
Speaking of Aiden, I had barely seen him all night. I couldn’t help the disappointment I was currently feeling. Earlier, when I found out the party was at his house I was actually excited to see
him.
Once all the games were set up, Aiden quickly disappeared and returned with a bottle of Patron and some shot glasses. “The rules are simple. Whoever falls, has to take a shot.”
“Scarlett.” He turned to face me, his eyes glistening with mischief. “You’re first. Against Caroline.”
“That’s not fair!” I began protesting. “She’s a cheerleader!”
“Who wants to spin first?” He smirked.
–
And so, ladies and gentlemen, that is how I ended up falling flat on my ass more times than I can count in the last hour. It was also why I had a throbbing pain on the left side of my forehead. You see, Caroline is a very very competitive person – she simply hates to lose. So as she was trying to adjust her position the Twister map, she unwittingly kicked me in the forehead and nearly took my eye out! Clearly, none of us except Aiden and another one of his buddies were sober enough to be

playing this game.
As I downed yet another shot of Patron – my fourth, I think, I once again felt the burning sensation of the liquid sliding down my throat. “That’s disgusting.” I groaned scrunching my face up in disgust.
Alcohol would be so much more enjoyable if it tasted like juice.
also really had to pee. I attempted to get up off the floor where I was currently sitting and leaning my back against the wall but the moment I tried to lift myself, I fell right back down. “Oops!” I giggled.
‘Whoa there.” Aiden said, standing in front of me and lending me his outstretched hand. He has
really yummy arms.
Once I was back on my own two feet, I felt the room beginning to spin making me trip over my own wo feet. Aiden’s hands were immediately on my waist, helping me balance myself.
You have reallllyyy nice arms.” I said as I poked his left arm. “And your eyeeess. They’re so pretty 00!”
He chuckled. “And you’re drunk, princess.”
‘No I’m not.” I waved my hand dismissively.
‘Oooo.” I continued. “I really want an ice cream cone!”
‘Who else wants an ice cream cone from McDonalds?” I wiggled out of Aiden’s grasp and turned to
address the rest of the room.
‘With fries!” Lucas shouted back.
“Yes!” I gasped. I then turned back to Aiden. “Pleaseeeeeeee. I’ll do anything! Can we just go get some
ice cream?”
Aiden chuckled as he grabbed a random hoodie off the couch and began walking towards the door.
“Your wish, is my command.”
