Chapter 70
“Yeah and it’ll be fun when Scarlett finds out.” I laughed. “She isn’t like the other girls you mess
–
around with she doesn’t fall at your feet and she sure as hell isn’t going to start thinking of you any different if you have a different girl on your arm each week.”
“I don’t have a different girl on my arm each week, dumbass!” Aiden shot back.
“That’s besides the point.” I’ve known Scarlett for a while now, but it wasn’t until recently that the
two of us became friends. While Aiden will always be my best friend, I wasn’t about to sit around
and watch him string her along if he wasn’t serious about her.

In the short two months that the two of them have been hanging out, I’ve seen her open up like never before. From what I gathered, she typically wouldn’t even look at a guy like Aiden, let alone willingly
spend time with him in her free time. “She’s different.” I gave Aiden a pointed look.
“You think I don’t know that?” He shouted. Uh oh – looks like I finally got a rise out of him.
“Clearly not.” I snorted. “If you did, you would grow a pair and make a move already – before
someone else does.”
His eyes flashed with anger. “What do you mean, before someone else does?”
“Whoa there.” I shot my arms up in surrender. “Don’t shoot the messenger. All I’m saying is, Scarlett is a very pretty girl. Someone else out here is bound to notice.”
“Well that someone, can fuck off!” He called out as he headed towards the door.
It was too easy to get him all worked up.
“I think I just saw your balls roll by!” I shouted after him, laughing.
“Yeah?” He shouted back. “You wanna go catch them for me?”
By 10 pm, the party was in full swing and Aiden’s house was jam packed with people – some I didn’t
even know. It was a last minute decision to even throw this party, and I told a few people about it but I guess everyone took it literally when I said invite everyone you know.

Aiden was totally going to kick my ass tomorrow, luckily I already had a cleaning crew coming in the morning.
After making my usual rounds, I was heading out to the back yard for some fresh air when I see a certain devilish blonde arguing with some guy in the corner of the patio. While I may be a lot of things, a womanizer I was not and I sure as hell wasn’t about to stand by and watch this guy put his hands all over her.
“Caroline, let’s go!” The guys says as he grabs her arm and attempts to pull her with him. “I don’t
know what the hell you’re doing at a party dressed like this.”
“Let go of me, Theo!” She squirmed trying to get out of his grasp. “You have no right to be here. How the hell you even knew where I was, is beyond me! But get this through your thick skull – you and I
are over!”
“Let go of her, man.” I said as I walked up to the two of them. As I looked down at this so called Theo,
he was at least a head shorter than me, and despite being bulkier I was confident I could take him.
“Mind your own fucking business.” He spat, only pausing to look at me for a brief second.
I chuckled at him as I took a step forward. “I said,” Placing my hand over his where he was holding
Caroline, “Let go of her.”
“Who the fuck are you?” By now Theo had released Caroline and placed his entire focus on me. I
took this as an opportunity to push her behind me, and away from this creep.
“I’m about to be the one that kicks your ass if you don’t get the fuck out of here.” I calmly replied.
I watched as Theo sized me up before smirking and attempting to throwing a punch at me. I was quick to dodge his hit, and instead threw a punch of my own that landed right on his nose.
I watched him clutch his bleeding nose while throwing out a whole bunch of colorful words directed at me. All I could do was smirk – serves him right. “I suggest you get out of here, unless you want a
black eye too.”
He threw Caroline and I one final glare before he began making his way towards the exit. “Oh, one more thing!” I shouted after him. “Come near her again, or so much as even think about her, and the
next time I won’t go so easy on you.”
Luckily there was no one out in the backyard to witness what just happened.
When he was out of sight, I finally turned around to look at Caroline who was shivering and

clutching her right arm. “Are you okay?” I asked.
“You didn’t have to butt in!” She looked up at me with a determined look in her eyes. “I had it under
control.”
“Right.” I sarcastically replied. “Definitely looked that way.”
