Chapter 71
“Shut up!” She huffed before turning on her heel to go inside. Before she could get too far, I grabbed
her non–injured hand to stop her.
She at least owed me an explanation after I just punched the guy.
“Oh no you don’t.” I stated, holding her in place. “Who was that guy?”
“None of your damn business.” She spat, refusing to make eye contact.
“I asked,” lifting her chin up. “Who was that guy.”
She rolled her eyes at me before swatting my hand away. “That would be my ex–boyfriend. Isn’t he
charming?”
“Very.” I snorted.
“Well thanks, but I’m gonna go find Scarlett and Brooke.” She flashed me a smile, but I could see through it – she was just trying to put on a brave face.
“Let’s have a look at your hand first.” I pointed at her now red arm. Luckily there wasn’t a bruise forming, but if you looked closely, you could see the outline of someone’s hand imprinted on her
skin.
Caroline looked around hesitantly before she finally gave in. I had her meet me upstairs in the spare room at the end of the hall, to avoid the prying eyes of everyone while I went to get some ice.
As I was making my way towards the stairs, I saw Scarlett and three other girls downing shots. Well –
this party is certainly bound to get interesting.
Once upstairs, I found Caroline sitting on the large queen sized bed, staring at her now red arm. I
stood there for a minute, taking in just how beautiful she is.
When she looked up and saw me standing there, she gave me a small smile. “Well, are you just going
to stand there all night?”
“Maybe.” I smirk, handing her the bag of ice. “It wouldn’t be a bad view, after all.”
Her face heats up almost instantly, as she attempts to hide behind her hair. “Shut up.” She mumbles.

Chapter 71
I lean against the wooden dresser across from her, I continue to marvel at her beauty. I’ve seen her around school countless times before, but it wasn’t until this year when Aiden and Scarlett started to hang out, that I really began to really noticed her. She was gorgeous and confident, with pools of brown orbs as volatile as a firecracker and as wild as a storm at sea.
–
Despite her strong exterior, I couldn’t help but think there was more to her than what she lets the
world see. And I was determined to break through the wall she had built around herself.
“Your ex–boyfriend’s a dick.” I say, attempting to fill the silence that has taken over.
“Understatement of the century.” Caroline gives a small laugh. “I’m sorry he took a swing at you.”
“Pst!” I waved her off. “He’s lucky all I did was punch him.”
Truth be told, I could have done a whole lot more damage if I wanted to. Since Freshman year, Aiden and I have taken up boxing as a workout, and not to toot my own horn, but I was actually pretty good.
“Well, thanks anyway.” She shrugged as she handed me the now melted bag of ice. “I should head
back down.”
As she made her way towards the door, I did something that was either going to get me kicked in the balls or extremely lucky.
“For the record, if you were my ex and I saw you dressed like that, I’d totally want you back too.” I said as I adjusted myself so that I was blocking the exit.
“Is that so?” She cocked an eyebrow at me.
As I stared into her brown orbs, I slowly bent down and planted my lips gently on hers. I pulled back slightly, trying to gage her reaction. She didn’t push me away, but instead I saw a small smirk spread across her face as she stared right into my eyes.
There was something about her just standing there, that I couldn’t resist. Grabbing her by the waist, I smashed my lips on hers in a crushing kiss. She tasted like vanilla with a hint of mint, her tongue smooth and cool.
As our tongues continued to explore each other, I pulled her in closer so that there was no space between us. I could feel her breasts mashed up against my chest, nearly spilling out of the busty red dress she had on.
My hands roamed widely all over her, clutching her hair, skimming up and down her spine, until

finally my hands reached her perfectly firm ass.
Her arms slowly snaked around my neck as I pulled her up into my arms and flipped us over so that
her back was against the door. She responded by kissing me back even more passionately, her tongue demanding access to my mouth, while at the same time I felt her hands tangle in my hair.
Don’t ask me how long we held that kiss for, but when we did finally go up for air, the two of us were
both out of breath.
As I searched her face for any indication she might want to stop, I was met with a mischievous grin.
“Are we just going to stand here all night and make out, or are you going to take me on that bed.” Her
lust filled voice declared.
