Chapter 584 A Call
Robert’s heart skipped a beat. It seemed George was finally ready to settle the score with those who had crossed Raven in
the past.
Though panic surged within him, Robert forced himself to stay composed, doing everything he could to mask his fear in front of George. “Yes, sir. I understand.”
Just as Robert was about to leave, George’s voice stopped him. “Wait.“.
“Is there something else, Sir? Robert asked, his voice trembling slightly. Robert froze mid–step, his body stiffening as cold sweat trickled down his back.
I’ve been away from Deariton for quite some time now. Has anyone noticed?” George asked.
“Not yet. I haven’t received any word from them,” Robert replied cautiously.
After a brief pause, Robert hesitated before adding, “However, sir, you’ve been away for quite a while. Perhaps it’s time to
return.”
“In that case, I’ll head back after the World Celebrities Wine Party. Start preparing for it now. Make sure every invitation is sent out without exception,” George instructed.
“Understood,” Robert replied, bowing deeply. Relieved, Robert nodded respectfully and quickly retreated from George’s room, his back drenched in cold sweat.
George rose and pushed open the window, his gaze drifting toward the mountains behind the estate. The peaks encircling the area reminded him of the retreat he once frequented in Forreb, stirring a faint sense of familiarity.
Lost in the view, George was jolted back to reality by the sudden ringing of a phone in the room.
George turned his head, a flicker of impatience flashing across his face. However, when his eyes landed on the phone sitting on the desk, he realized the sound wasn’t coming from there.
His gaze shifted to the bedside table, where a peculiar–looking phone lay. It was the communication device he used exclusively in Forreb.
George frowned, his calm exterior cracking as a ripple of unease coursed through him. They’ve come for me after all, he thought.
Even though he didn’t want to, George walked to the bedside. When he picked up his phone, he realized it wasn’t a regular call; it was a video invite.
George hesitated for a moment, but just before the invite was about to expire, he answered it.
Moments later, the screen lit up, revealing three men, each with their own distinct style. They looked to be about the same age as Raven.
One of them held a black hat, his eyes slightly narrowed, and his lips curved into a faint smile, looking very easy–going. He was Keegan Brown.
Standing next to him was a taller man, his brows furrowed as he stared directly at the camera. His stern expression was a sharp contrast to the smiling man beside him. He was Carroll Brown.
Carroll’s face was rigid, his displeasure with George on the other end of the call practically radiating through the screen. He looked like he was seconds away from snapping.
The third man, standing beside the stern one, was strikingly beautiful, so much so that it was almost unsettling. Yet, his flawless features carried a hint of danger, an alluring yet sinister charm. He was Yann Brown.
With a smirk that held equal parts mockery and indifference, he raised his eyes slightly to meet the camera. It was this third man who spoke first, “Raven, how could you leave Forreb without permission?
“Even with all our years of friendship, I can’t just let you do as you please. As the lord of Deariton, I order you to return immediately.”
Just as Yann finished speaking, Keegan, with a faint smile on his lips, chimed in, “George, how can you, of all people, break the rules? Using your power to bend the rules and leave Forreb like that? Such reckless behavior won’t go unpunished.” George’s expression remained icy, and he said nothing. He stared at the three men on the screen, each with a distinct personality, his brows furrowing deeper, as the Successfully unlocked!
