Chapter 586 The Excitement
The three men were practically itching to rush over and stand up for Payen
George fought the urge to hang up and stop dealing with these hot helded guys. Keeping his tone calm but firm, he said.” Alright, calm down, all of you. Eve already found Raven. Do you think i’d let anyone bully her
“That said, you do have a point. Rules are rules, and they can’t be broken. 1 heard back to Foreb now and submit as application to you, the city lord, following proper procedures”
Yann’s expression shifted instantly, and he quickly waved his hands in exaggerated panic. “No way. You’ve found Raven, so why bother with all that boring paperwork? I approved your trip, didrit 1? Just stay there and take care of her. No need to rush back.”
They all knew that Raven had taken on a new identity, making it difficult for her to return to Forsb
If George were to return, it would mean leaving Raven alone in the lower realm, something Yann absolutely couldn’t accept
George cast Yann a cool glance and replied in a calm but firm tone, No. Someone of my status can’t set a precedent for breaking the rules. I need to lead by example. I think what you said earlier makes sense, so ril take Robert and head back now.”
Yann paused awkwardly, then forced a near–pleading smile onto his face. Turning to the other two, he asked, “What rules? Did George break any rules?”
“Of course not. George would never break the rules,” said Carroll.
Keegan was serious. “Rules? What rules? Forget about all that, okay? Just stay in the lower realm and keep Raven safe. That’s all that matters. Don’t worry about Deariton; we’ve got it covered.
“And rest assured, no one will find out you’ve left Forreb. We’ll make sure to cover for you.”
The three men’s attitude changed sharply.
Without Raven, George would be a rule–breaking offender. But since he found Raven, his actions could be justified, and the rules suddenly became negotiable.
George finally realized that years of friendship couldn’t compare to the bond they had with their little apprentice. To these three, Raven was the most important person in their lives.
But George couldn’t really complain. He felt the same way. No one mattered more to him than Raven, and she was the only one who could make him change his principles and stance.
“George, where’s our Raven? Hurry up and let us see her,” said Yann.
They hadn’t seen Raven in ages, and now that they knew George had found her, they were practically bursting with impatience to catch a glimpse of their beloved apprentice, even if it was just through a video call.
“She’s not with me right now,” George replied, pausing briefly before adding, “But we’ll be meeting very soon. When the time comes, I’ll make sure you get a chance to see her.”
“You better figure something out. Just bring Raven back this time–who’s going to manage the military if she’s not here?” Yann urged.
“Exactly. Without Raven, I don’t even have anyone to help me refine medicine.” Keegan nodded.
“Hey, without Raven, I don’t even know who to transfer my billions to every year,” Carroll sighed.
George sighed inwardly. ‘Aren’t we supposed to be talking about Raven’s safety? How did it turn into this mess? he wondered.
Still, it was a rare moment of peace with these three. Ever since Raven went missing, things had been tense between them.
They all blamed themselves, and each other, for not keeping Raven safe, leaving her stranded in a lower realm, all alone.
Now that George had discovered Raven’s whereabouts, it was the perfect chance to mend their fractured bonds.
But the most pressing issue was figuring out how to help Raven recover her memories. This was the problem that weighed most heavily on George’s mind.
The three men on the other end of the video call were still rambling on, but George had already lost interest. Without hesitation, he ended the call and walked out of the room.
He usually spent most of his time in his own quarters, but today, something felt off, like something important was missing.
It wasn’t until he reached the guest room that he realized it had been two or three days since he last saw Cassian.
George pushed open the door to Cassian’s room and found the bed neatly made, the blankets and sheets folded so perfectly that it didn’t look like anyone had been staying there.
George called over a guard and asked, “Have you seen Cassian in the past couple of days?”
