Garth thought Cassian’s lack of interest in Forreb was because he didn’t really understand it. So, with patience, he explained, “In Forreb, even the average person has a higher status than the royals of any country here. 

“Getting into Forreb and becoming a resident means you’re instantly someone important, a big deal. It’s the kind of place everyone here dreams of living in.” 

He continued, “They say regular folks in Forreb live up to 150 years, and those with higher status can reach 200. If you become an official resident there, your strength and lifespan will skyrocket. 

“Most of our so–called secrets for immortality and eternal youth actually come from Forreb. But the formulas we have are incomplete knock–offs, so no one here can truly achieve what the people in Forreb can. 

“Cassian, I won’t force you to decide, but I hope you’ll think it over carefully.” 

Garth didn’t want to part ways with Cassian, but Raven’s offer to make up for lost time and her ability to take Cassian to Forreb to enjoy a life of privilege were too tempting. Garth felt that letting go might be the only way to give Cassian a better future. 

“Why did she come back all of a sudden?” Cassian didn’t answer right away. Instead, he turned slightly, his gaze landing on Tuesday, who was hiding in the bedroom, talking on the phone. 

“Oh well,” Garth paused for a moment, then hesitated before saying, “She came back to make up for all the years she’s neglected you. 

“When she left, Pierce was already in elementary school, and you were still just a baby. You don’t even remember her. Maybe this time, your mom is genuinely remorseful and wants to make things right. 

“She even mentioned before that if the opportunity arose, she’d take me, Pierce, and Ash to Forreb so our family could finally reunite over there.” 

Garth said this to ease Cassian’s worries, hoping he’d feel comfortable going to Forreb with Tuesday for a better life. But Cassian simply shook his head. “I’m not going to Forreb with her.” 

‘If Raven isn’t there, then going to Forreb means nothing to me,” he wondered. 

“Come on, Cassian, think it over, will you?” Garth sighed, frustrated by Cassian’s stubbornness. 

He added, “I know you don’t have any memories of your mother from when you were young, and I understand it’s hard to accept her all of a sudden. But Tuesday said she’ll stay here for a while, so you still have time to think it over. 

“I also know the real reason you’re refusing to go to Forreb. It’s because of Raven. Honestly, I think you two are a good match, but Raven has offended Mr. Brown, and her life might be in danger. As your father, I can’t just stand by and watch you 

risk your life for her.” 

Cassian froze for a moment. “Raven offended Mr. Brown?” 

‘Isn’t she George’s disciple? How could she have offended him? Cassian wondered. 

“That’s true, but she also pretended to be Mr. Brown’s disciple. If he finds out-” Garth shook his head, his tone heavy with worry. 

Garth seemed lost in his own thoughts, unable to pull himself out. “Raven really went too far this time. Even if she was desperate, impersonating Mr. Brown’s disciple was reckless. 

“Now the news has spread everywhere, and there’s no way to fix it. All we can do is hope Mr. Brown shows mercy and spares her life.” 

Cassian opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his temples. The other personalities within him stirred restlessly, fighting for control of his body once again. 

Ever since Cassian started practicing the techniques George had taught him, things had improved at first. But recently, for some reason, those personalities had grown more restless, trying harder to break free. 

Now, even the techniques George had given him were gradually losing their effectiveness. 

“I’m feeling a bit tired. I’ll head to rest first.” Not wanting Garth to pick up on anything unusual, Cassian quickly made his way to the bedroom.
