‘Even so, you don’t want to be with me? thought Thorian.
Thorian thought Raven would be with him as long as Cassian wasn’t around. But now it seemed things weren’t going as smoothly as he had imagined.
“Lady Valor, as the heir of the Lawrence family, I’m willing to be your subordinate Don’t you know my feelings? I’ve always treated you as my girlfriend since I chose to join Valhalla five years ago. I can do erything for you and protect you from harm. Why can’t you recognize your heart and be with me?”
Raven suddenly laughed at his words.
‘Protect me? Recognize my heart?‘ thought Raven.
She was speechless in the face of Thorian’s questioning.
Putting aside the fact that she did not need Thorian’s protection, with Thorian’s ability and strength, she couldn’t have any feelings for him other than that he was her subordinate.
However, she did not expect Thorian to be so self–righteous.
“Thorian, have you forgotten there’s still a score between us?”
Raven’s words made Thorian’s pupils contract sharply, and his heart beat violently.
Thorian thought, ‘Raven believes Hugmuinn’s instigation and thinks I am the one who seriously injured Benedict.
‘What should I do? If I do not cover this up, I would not be qualified to be Raven’s subordinate, let alone be with Raven “Lady Valor, it’s not what you think,” said Thorian, pretending to be calm. “I won’t admit to what I didn’t do. I have a clear conscience toward you.”
“A clear conscience?” said George.
George suddenly appeared before Thorian before Raven could speak.
“Since you want to get engaged to Raven so much, I’ll fulfill your wish. Keegan will be in Broson City in three days, so let’s set it up for the day he arrives,” said George.
“George?” said Raven.
Raven looked at George in astonishment, not understanding why he had taken the liberty to decide for her.
However, just as she was about to refuse, George gave her a meaningful look.
Raven swallowed the words she wanted to say and pondered over what George’s plans were.
Raven thought, ‘George had said Thorian was not worthy of me at the villa. Moreover, based on George’s attitude toward me during this period, I could tell he would not force me to do something I’m unwilling to do.
‘Then why did he agree to Thorian that I would get engaged to Thorian three days later?‘
Meanwhile, George was staring at Thorian with a scrutinizing gaze.
Raven had long discovered that Thorian would show unnatural nervousness whenever she mentioned treating Benedict. When Keegan said he had no guarantee that Benedict would wake up even if he tried, Thorian’s eyes sparkled with excitement and joy.
Thorian thought he had hidden it well, but did not know George had seen his small actions.
Based on Raven’s conversation with Thorian, George quickly concluded Thorian was hiding something from Raven. Thorian was so worried that Benedict would be cured, which meant Benedict knew something unfavorable to Thorian. Moreover, George also believed Raven would not fall for a man like Thorian if she had Cassian as a boyfriend. Therefore, he deliberately gave Thorian hope, saying the engagement ceremony would be held on the day when Keegan arrived in Broson City.
Since Thorian and his family wanted to use the rumors to plot against Raven, George would punish one as a warning to others. He wanted to make an example out of them and let everyone know the consequences of plotting against Raven!
