Chapter 659 Are You Sure?
He had come to kill her, but upon entering the room, the metallic tang of blood assaulted his senses. Then he saw a woman lying supine on the bed, throat slit wide open, her lifeless eyes staring into the void.
It was probably the most effortless job he’d ever taken. He didn’t even need to get his hands dirty. All he needed to do was clean up the mess and dispose of the corpse.
The mercenary did not care if he killed Ashley himself. Since Ashley was dead, he completed the mission. He immediately called Thorian to report the situation.
“Are you sure she’s dead?” Thorian was very vigilant. “Take a photo of her and show it to me. Then dispose of the body. Do it cleanly and leave no trace.”
“Don’t worry, it’s no problem. I promise I’ll clean it up for you,” said the mercenary, who was in a good mood.
“That’s good, Thorian said. “I’ll transfer the balance to your account immediately after I get the photo.”
Thorian was so excited that he clenched his fists, thinking, ‘That bitch Ashley is finally dead. As long as she is dead, no one will be able to threaten me and stop me from being with Raven.
‘I’ll soon become Raven’s fiancé. Soon, I’ll register my marriage with Raven and become her legal husband.
‘So what if that loser Cassian is still alive? He can only watch as his woman becomes someone else’s wife
Thinking of this, Thorian couldn’t help laughing out loud and smugly. Soon, he received a photo of Ashley’s corpse. After taking a look, he deleted it with disgust.
“So this is how it ends for you, Ashley. Never thought I’d see the day,” he muttered as he transferred the rest of the money
to the mercenary.
Until now, he still naively believed that the one who killed Ashley was the mercenary he hired, and remained unaware that Raven knew everything he had done.
At this moment, Thorian’s heart swelled with anticipation for tomorrow’s engagement party. He thought his desire was finally within reach.
“Mr. Lawrence, you’re finally out. It is the guest list for the party. Please take a look.” A servant rushed to report to Thorian immediately after he came out of the room. “Also, this is the menu. Your father said you get the final say on everything for the engagement party.”
Thorian looked at it and found nothing wrong, so he handed the name list to the servant.
He said, “This arrangement is okay. Just do it this way.”
His mind was now wholly consumed by visions of a blissful life with Raven, leaving no room to dwell on such trivial matters.
“Thorian. Isn’t this Thorian?” someone in the living room said.
Thorian walked into the living room and saw many people sitting there. Most of them were relatives of the Lawrence family. They had come in advance to congratulate him.
“I knew it. Thorian is a man of remarkable bearing, blessed with the greatest fortune. To be able to marry a disciple of Mr. Brown is a blessing earned through lifetimes of virtue.”
“Thorian, after you and Raven get engaged, you must be respectful to Mr. Brown. If you can make him happy, he will do his – best to promote you. At that time, not only you, but also the entire Lawrence family will rise rapidly. We, the collateral
relatives, can also benefit from it.” That person laughed out loud after saying those words.
Thorian quietly listened as those relatives in the living room flattered him. He was secretly pleased with himself, but on the surface, he pretended to be calm as if he were used to those scenes.
At this moment, a servant of the Lawrence family walked in with a young man in light blue casual clothes.
“Mr. Lawrence, someone is looking for you,” said the servant.
Hearing that, Thorian turned around and frowned when he saw Martin.
“Martin? Did Raven ask you to come?” Thorian asked.
Martin walked to Thorian expressionlessly and said, “Miss Valor told me to ask you a question. Are you sure you want to proceed with tomorrow’s engagement party?”
