The Lawrence mansion in Regalhold was abuzz with activity, as heads of old–money families from Regalhold and global power factions personally came to Raven and Thorian’s engagement party.
Of course, they only rushed over because of Raven.
After all, everyone knew that Raven was George’s disciple. To them, currying favor With Raven was equivalent to currying favor with George.
Thorian had already changed into a pure white tuxedo. He switched ties of different colors before the dressing mirror and finally settled on a subtle gray pattern with muted stripes.
Looking at his vigorous self in the mirror, Thorian could not help but smile.
“Has Raven’s car arrived yet?” He asked the Lawrence family’s bodyguard who was guarding beside him.
Although the Lawrence family’s bodyguard didn’t receive the news, he said, “It should be soon. On such an important day, Miss Valor will dress up grandly. It will probably take a little more time.”
“That’s true,” Thorian replied.
Although Thorian knew that Raven was not a woman who liked to dress up, now that it was their engagement day, he didn’t think it was surprising that Raven spent more time on makeup and dressing up.
He believed that Raven would not run away at the last minute. After all, George was the one who had decided on this engagement party. He thought no matter how unwilling Raven was, she would not dare to disobey George’s orders.
Though Thorian knew getting engaged to him was against Raven’s will, he was confident she would gradually fall in love with him after they were together.
He was determined to get Raven.
“Mr. Lawrence, you’re so handsome today. You and Miss Valor are a perfect match.” The Lawrence family’s bodyguard complimented Thorian.
When Thorian heard this, his lips could not help but curl into a smile. “Then tell me, who is more compatible with Raven? Me or the Lysander family’s youngest son?”
The bodyguard was stunned before cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Of course, he knew who the youngest son of the Lysander family in Regalhold was. Faced with this life–or–death question with only one acceptable answer, he naturally gave Thorian the response he wanted to hear.
He said, “Mr. Lawrence, what are you talking about? How can that useless idiot of the Lysander family be compared to you? If he were that outstanding, the head of the Lysander family wouldn’t have hidden him and let his eldest son take care of the family business.”
The old families in Regalhold knew each other very well. The Lawrence family naturally knew that the Lysander family’s second son had been studying at Regalhold University, and their eldest son was in charge of handling the family’s company and daily affairs.
