Chapter 680 I Was Right Next Door
Now, Raven realized that she had made the right decision to expose Thorian in public and not give him any way out. Even at this point, Thorian was still unrepentant. She felt that a person like him was not worthy of her sympathy.
Moreover, she could also use this opportunity to warn people of Vyrdenia that if anyone dared to hurt the people around her in the future, they would end up like Thorian.
“Thorian, you said that these videos are fake. Can your voice be faked?” With that, aven pulled out another recording from her phone. Instantly, Thorian’s angry and indignant voice sounded in the banquet hall.
He said, “Ashley, I’m warning you, this is the last time!”
Immediately after, there was a long period of intense panting.
The hall was in an uproar.
While visual evidence remained susceptible to manipulation, vocal patterns were biologically unique. Anyone who knew Thorian could tell the man in the recording was him.
“Even so, the Lawrence family still wanted to force Miss Valor to get engaged. This was too much!”
“If Mr. Brown knew that the Lawrence family had bullied his precious disciple like this, he would be furious.”
“It seems the Lawrence family will be in deep trouble this time.”
The people below the stage discussed animatedly. Some were ecstatic, while others were gloating.
The Lawrence family had been too high–profile lately, and many people had long held grudges against them. The exposure of Thorian’s disgraceful deeds gave them the perfect opportunity to vent their anger. What was supposed to be a joyous engagement party was about to become a public condemnation of the Lawrence family.
Thorian sat on the ground, as if he had lost the strength to struggle instantly. With his last bit of hope, he looked at Raven with a pleading gaze, only to find that Raven was staring at him expressionlessly. There was no emotion other than indifference in her eyes.
Thorian was stunned. He finally realized that Raven had long had this evidence. He thought, ‘She knew about the things I’d done, yet chose to expose them at the engagement party. She had planned all of this.
‘I will be publicly disgraced before everyone’s eyes, left unable to hold my head high ever again. Not even the Lawrence family, who have strict requirements for the successor, will accept me after this.‘
“Raven, do you hate me that much?” Thorian asked, unable to accept this result.
He added, “Even if I momentarily lost my senses and slept with Ashley, that’s all in the past. Ashley has long been dead now, so why can’t you move on? Why can’t you pretend that nothing had happened?
“Raven, no matter what I’ve done, you’re the only one in my heart. This will never change.”
Thorian looked at Raven with a sorrowful gaze. He still clung to the delusion that Raven might suddenly be soft–hearted and forgive him.
He could not understand why Raven could accept the weak and incompetent Cassian and tolerate all of Cassian’s shortcomings, but was so strict with him.
‘Am I that unbearable?‘ he wondered. ‘Why won’t Raven even look at me properly? Isn’t it obvious that I’m the only man truly worthy of standing by her side?‘
Raven watched Thorian’s desperate struggle with an expressionless face, suddenly weary of this cat–and–mouse game. She no longer needed his apologies. Now, she only wanted him to pay for what he had done.
So, she said, “Thorian, do you think I don’t know anything? You brought Ashley back to Regalhold and settled her in the suburban villa. I was in the room next door when you were with Ashley.”
