Chapter 696 Damn It!
Once in the car, Raven carefully examined the communication chip again and realized it marked the location of the spatial point. “In just a few short years, they’ve set up so many things I didn’t even know about…” she murmured.
Her muttering caught Martin’s attention, making him even more worried. He wondered, ‘Who are they? Could she be talking about the Forrebians? Is Miss Valor so concerned about Mr. Lysander that she’s starting to lose her mind?‘
Though Martin was worried, he didn’t want to discourage Raven. He kept his thoughts to himself. After half a day’s drive, they finally arrived at their destination.
Forreb had established a Spatial Point in every nation, and Vyrdenia’s was located at a dock roughly 500 miles from Regalhold. At first glance, the port appeared ordinary, but the ships moored there were anything but–each was a spatial vessel transported from Forreb.
Forreb’s leadership had gone to great lengths to maintain peace across realms while providing convenient options for those who needed to travel between worlds.
Even so, official entry and exit approvals were exceptionally rare–only a select few ever received authorization. As a result, a new underground industry emerged on the black market: smuggling wealthy individuals who couldn’t obtain legal travel permits across borders.
One had to pay fifty million kryts to board a spatial vessel. As a result, only the black market within Forreb had the means to arrange illegal crossings. For individuals from other worlds, getting into Forreb without assistance from a Forrebian was virtually impossible.
Previously, Tuesday had used her charm to strike a deal with a Forreb merchant, who then smuggled her into Forreb by disguising her as part of his trade caravan.
The rules for entering and leaving Forreb were quite different over a decade ago, with more loopholes than now. As Raven traveled, she kept calculating how to exchange funds for kryts. If that didn’t work, she’d have no choice but to call her mentor. She vaguely remembered Yann mentioning he had plenty of money.
“Miss Valor, I’ll take you as far as here. For the rest of the journey, you’ll have to handle it alone,” Martin said, opening the car door for her. “After I return, I’ll take Benedict and the white lion to Lord Saxon. You don’t need to worry about anything here.” “Alright.” Raven nodded. “You can go back now.” She thought that Martin was quite capable. Among Saxon’s subordinates, he was the most skilled. If the opportunity arose, she could discuss with Saxon about taking Martin back to Forreb when he returned.
As she considered it, Raven suddenly realized she still didn’t know how Saxon had entered this world. Perhaps he had obtained an exit permit, but given their identities, it seemed almost impossible for them to be granted permission. “Damn it!” A sharp shout broke through Raven’s thoughts.
“This is the Spatial Point to Forreb, not a place where someone like you can pass freely!” A man in black stood in front of a disheveled figure, sternly reprimanding him. “I warn you, if you don’t stop pestering, I’ll break both your legs and have someone throw you out!”
The disheveled man was none other than Benson. He stood before the man in black, his eyes burning with frustration as he stared at the distant dock.
‘Just a step away, I could board the spatial vessel to Forreb!‘ He fumed internally. ‘It’s so unfair. That bitch Tuesday gets to go to Forreb and live like royalty, while I’m stuck here, humiliated and blocked from entry. It’s just not fair!”
