Chapter 701 Satisfying!
Raven couldn’t help but facepalm as she listened to Carroll gloating on the other end of the line. She shook her head, mentally rolling her eyes. Fortunately, they weren’t having a face–to–face conversation then, or she would have been too embarrassed to keep up with Carroll’s behavior.
Raven couldn’t help but be puzzled by Carroll’s distinct personality–and there were three more like him. She wondered why she hadn’t remembered anything about them before. A vague sense of lost memories lingered in her mind, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t quite grasp what she had forgotten.
It seemed that after meeting with Cassian in Forreb, she should take the opportunity to ask him if he knew anything about her mentors. Perhaps Cassian could shed some light on them and help her piece together the fragments of her memory.
“Raven, is there something you need from me?” After boasting to his subordinates, Carroll remembered that Raven might be calling because she needed something. He quickly sat back at his desk, adopting a more serious tone. “If you’re facing any difficulties, just tell me. I promise I’ll take care of it right away!”
“Well…” Raven rarely asked for help, so asking her mentors for money was difficult, especially when they weren’t even ones she clearly remembered. However, to get back to Forreb as soon as possible, she hesitated momentarily before asking, “Is fifty million kryts a lot for you?”
“Fifty million kryts?” Carroll chuckled. “What’s that? Compared to you, any amount is insignificant! What, have you set your eyes on something worth fifty million kryts? What is it? I’ll buy it for you right now!”
After saying that, Carroll turned to his assistant and commanded, “Rylan, transfer the money to my disciple right now!”
“I’m not looking to buy anything, but I urgently need fifty million kryts right now,” Raven explained.
“Alright, no problem!” Sensing that Raven wasn’t willing to say more, Carroll didn’t press further. He immediately instructed Rylan to transfer the money to her.
Soon, a message popped up on Raven’s phone, showing that fifty billion kyrts had been transferred into her account.
‘Fifty billion kyrts?‘Raven thought, raising an eyebrow. Carroll’s wealth seemed a bit excessive. It was likely that even his brothers couldn’t come up with such a large sum of liquid assets all at once.
The communication chip in Forreb could be linked to bank accounts, but since Raven hadn’t returned to Forreb, her original account was no longer accessible.

Even if she returned to Forreb, she wasn’t planning to use that account for now. She still hadn’t figured out the truth behind that incident from the past, and revealing her identity would only draw attention from those who wanted to harm her.
Those people had initially been intended to kill her, and if they found out that both she and Cassian were still alive, they would never let it go. After five years away from Forreb, the various factions in Deariton had probably stabilized.
If their identities were exposed now, it would undoubtedly stir up chaos among the different powers, reigniting the conflicts and dangers they had managed to escape.
“Raven, is fifty billion kyrts enough? If not, I can transfer more!” Carroll said, anxious that the amount he gave might not be sufficient. He quickly added, “If it’s not enough, I can transfer fifty billion kyrts to you daily from now on!”
“There’s no need…” Raven quickly declined. “This amount is already more than enough.
“Raven, don’t be too polite with me. After all, all the money I make will eventually be yours,” Carroll said.
“Truly, that’s more than enough–I’m not just being polite…” Raven looked at the communication chip with a conflicted expression as the balance jumped from fifty billion to one hundred billion kyrts.
She never considered herself someone who chased luxury or enjoyed shopping, and with such a hefty sum, she likely wouldn’t be able to spend it all. Yet Carroll insisted on treating it like nothing more than pocket money and made it clear he’d keep adding more if it wasn’t enough. It left her feeling both helpless and moved.
Others genuinely cared about her, including Cassian, her brothers, and her parents. But the two staff members and Benson completely misinterpreted the conflicted look on her face–they all assumed Raven had failed to borrow the money.
“As expected, commoner is still commoner–there’s no way she could just borrow fifty million kyrts that easily.”
Benson, in particular, felt a wave of satisfaction wash over him when he saw Raven’s expression. ‘She must’ve gone around begging for money and got turned down- serves her right! Satisfying!‘ he thought.
Just thinking about how Raven used to carry herself with such arrogance and self- importance filled Benson with a sense of vindication. Even though he hadn’t been the one to turn her down, the fact that someone had was enough to make him feel an inexplicable sense of pride.
