Julio had initially thought he had made friends with a promising young lady, but he realized that Raven had brought trouble that could cost him his life in the blink of an eye.
He saw that Raven still appeared fearless, and couldn’t help but sigh repeatedly. “But this isn’t entirely your fault. After all, you’re from a lower realm, and you’ve never heard of Cloudshadow Sect, so you don’t know how powerful they are.
“Now that things have come to this point, there’s nothing more to say. You should hide quietly before this spatial vessel departs and return to your lower realm.
“If the people from Cloudshadow Sect can’t find you in Frihamen City, they might spare your life. After all, they wouldn’t go through the trouble of applying for complicated departure procedures to get back at you.”
Julio tried to persuade Raven to return to her lower realm immediately, but he couldn’t help but feel a sense of regret in his heart. A young girl with remarkable medical skills would have a bright future if she stayed in Frihamen City.
He had originally hoped to build a good relationship with Raven while she was still new to Frihamen City, thinking she might help him.
However, he never anticipated that as soon as the spatial vessel docked, Raven would provoke the members of the Cloudshadow Sect before even entering the city. It seemed that some people were not destined for great success.
As for the others, when they looked at Raven, there was a hint of pity in their eyes. Although some of them had previously considered befriending her, now that they knew she had offended the Cloudshadow Sect, they couldn’t wait to distance themselves as much as possible.
After all, compared to the renowned Cloudshadow Sect, they were nothing but insignificant individuals. So, after Raven injured a member of the Cloudshadow Sect, they instinctively stepped back and kept their distance from her, fearing that they might unintentionally get caught up in the trouble and bring about their demise.
“I’m truly grateful for the first aid you gave me earlier. I should have invited you to my home to thank you properly. However, Brecken and I have some important matters to attend to. We’ll extend an invitation to you another time.” With that, Dangelo gave a subtle glance to Brecken, and the two of them quickly left the spatial vessel.
The invitation for another time was just a polite gesture. Raven knew very well that Dangelo was eager to distance himself from her. Like most others, Dangelo didn’t want to risk offending the Cloudshadow Sect because of her.
Even though Raven could cure his heart ailment, Dangelo valued his potential relationship with the Cloudshadow Sect more. After all, what Raven could accomplish, the elders of the Cloudshadow Sect could do with ease.
Moreover, even without treating his illness, the Barrera family would never dare to oppose the Cloudshadow Sect. In the eyes of the Cloudshadow Sect, families like the Barrera family were insignificant. A single word from them could bring the Barrera family to ruin.
Dangelo dared not take the risk. It wasn’t worth offending the Cloudshadow Sect, a force that made even the most powerful in Forreb tremble, just for a lower realm person who might not even be able to cure his ailment. It was not a deal worth making.
Most passengers aboard the spatial vessel returning to Forreb shared Dangelo’s sentiment. Raven quickly noticed their attitude, a clear sense of avoidance, as if they were trying to distance themselves from her at all costs.
In truth, she didn’t care at all about the opinions of the other passengers. Frihamen City was a tertiary city whose connections held little value for her. Having them would be a bonus, but their absence wouldn’t affect her plans.
However, after all the other passengers disembarked, Raven noticed that Julio was still standing by her side. She raised an eyebrow at him and deliberately asked, “They’ve all left. Why haven’t you gone?”
