The Cloudshadow Sext member glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was the middle–aged man from the Spatial Point. After learning from Benson that Raven had entered Forreb, wasn’t immediately killed, and even managed to blend into Forreb openly, he quickly called the Cloudshadow Sect member.
“Sir, I heard that wretch injured you?”
The middle–aged man’s words reignited the fury the Cloudshadow Sect member had barely suppressed. “Damn it, didn’t you say she was just some commoner from the lower realm! How the hell does someone like that have this kind of strength?”
Based on his experience, Raven’s technique was nothing like anything from an ordinary realm. She even claimed she didn’t sneak into Forreb–that she paid in kyrts and had a valid communication chip. On top of that, she insisted she hadn’t injured anyone or disrupted the order at the entry point.”
The Cloudshadow Sect member snapped viciously, barking into the phone, “Don’t tell me you’ve got a personal grudge against that wretch and just used me to do your dirty work?”
The middle–aged man turned pale at the accusation, but with things having gone this far, there was no way he could admit to lying. He had no choice but to grit his teeth and continue framing Raven. “You’re a member of the Cloudshadow Sect–I’d never dare deceive you, not even in my wildest dreams!
“With power like hers, forcing her way onto the spatial vessel and injuring our people would’ve been effortless, the man
insisted.
“And of course she wouldn’t admit to it–she knows full well that it’s a serious crime for someone from the lower realm to sneak into Forreb. Her excuses mustn’t fool you. She’s just a commoner from Vyrdenia, and the fact that she dared to lay a hand on you shows she has no respect for you or the Cloudshadow Sect behind you. It’s outright defiance!”
The middle–aged man continued to stoke the Cloudshadow Sect member’s anger. “If you let her walk away after this, what will become of the Cloudshadow Sect’s authority?”
The Cloudshadow Sect member’s fury flared again, fueled by the man’s words. He began to believe him again. Raven had dared to strike even him–clearly, she had no regard for the Cloudshadow Sect, let alone the ordinary staff at the entry points.
‘She’s lying!‘ he thought. It wasn’t just about personal humiliation anymore–it threatened the authority of the entire Cloudshadow Sect. “Well… still defiant even with death looming over her. I’ll ensure she learns what it means to cross me.”
A dark smile crept across the man’s lips. “Don’t worry,” he said coldly. “I’ll report this to Mr. Devonport shortly. She dared to offend me–she’ll pay the price for it.”
Seething rage, the Cloudshadow Sect member slammed the phone down and immediately began the discharge process. Without wasting another moment, he headed straight for Timothy’s residence. He knew he wasn’t a match for Raven, but if Timothy’s action, crushing a girl like her, would be as effortless as swatting a fly.
While rushing off to complain to Timothy, Dangelo, who had returned to Forreb on the same spatial vessel as Raven, sighed with regret as he spoke to Brecken. “I didn’t expect Raven to offend someone from the Cloudshadow Sect. At this rate, I fear her days may be numbered.
“The elders of the Cloudshadow Sect won’t allow anyone to challenge their authority. Once that member returns to report, he won’t let this go easily. I had originally hoped Raven could help treat my illness, but now it seems that opportunity is lost.”
Dangelo seemed to recall something. “Brecken, did you happen to hear Raven mention during the journey on the spatial vessel that she wanted to get engaged to Tuesday’s son?”
