Mack was brimming with thoughts of the Cherry family’s bright future, his pride on his face. As Cassian stepped out of his room, he caught Mack’s words and took in the smug, self–satisfied expressions of Felipe and Leonard.
Tuesday stood quietly to the side, showing little reaction. But it didn’t matter–ever since she had deceived Cassian and brought him to Forreb for her interests, she had long forfeited the right to be called a mother.
Felipe seemed to notice Cassian’s gaze. He glanced up with disdain, lifting his eyebrows in a smug, triumphant manner, his eyes brimming with provocation. ‘So what if Cassian looked outstanding? In the end, he was nothing significant. His only real worth was providing a heart for me, he thought.
“Cassian,” Felipe said with a smirk, his tone laced with provocation, “you must be feeling pretty jealous right now, huh?” His words were sharp, deliberately aimed to sting.
“Some people are born beneath others, while others are destined for greatness. I’ll soon be the son–in–law of the Sutton family–you’ve heard of them, haven’t you? Their company ranks among the top thirty in all of Frihamen City.
“The Sutton family’s daughter is bringing engagement gifts worth several hundred thousand dollars, which doesn’t even include the real estate.” Felipe felt no shame in marrying; on the contrary, he was full of smug satisfaction.
Mack also came from humble beginnings, yet he had managed to marry into a prestigious family. Although Felipe’s grandmother’s family later declined, it didn’t change the fact that he had been born into privilege.
“We may be brothers,” Felipe said smugly, “but our lives couldn’t be more different. Whatever status you once held means nothing here in Forreb–you’re nothing but an inferior outsider. Forget about those wealthy heiresses–even an average girl wouldn’t spare you a glance.
“Stop struggling. Right now, your only value lies in giving me your heart. Once I take it and continue living, you’ll, in a way, experience the life of someone born into privilege–a life you’d never reach on your own. If anything, you should consider it a gain.” Felipe stood before Cassian, radiating an overwhelming sense of superiority.
Cassian gave Felipe a calm, indifferent glance before speaking slowly. “You’d better stop dreaming about my heart. And if the Sutton family finds out you have a heart condition, what do you think–will they still choose you?”
Even if Felipe had a heart transplant, there would still be risks involved. If the Sutton family found out about his condition, they might not choose someone who could die at any moment to be their son–in–law.
“Enough!” Mack slammed the table angrily. “This family is not for you to speak on! If it weren’t for the Cherry family supporting you, you’d be dead on the streets by now, unable to survive in Forreb. You don’t know how to be grateful; instead, you mock your brother with sarcastic remarks. Do you think I won’t discipline you?”
In his eyes, Cassian’s presence in Forreb was a gift from the Cherry family. He believed Cassian should be grateful and serve the family selflessly, even offering up his heart without question. What he failed to remember, however, was that Cassian never wanted to come to the Cherry family in the first place.
Their coercion and manipulation of Tuesday led her to deceive him into joining. If it weren’t for Cassian’s ability to provide a heart for Felipe, Mack would have likely resorted to physical punishment by now.
“I don’t need your charity,” Cassian said with a hint of mockery in his eyes. He subtly curled his lips, revealing a captivating smile. “If you have the guts, send me back.”
As soon as he regained consciousness, he overheard the shameless remarks from the Cherry family. The words stirred his already unsettled stomach. Although he was only a secondary personality with fragmented memories, he could still gather some information from their scattered words.
“That arrogant fool didn’t resist and lives with the Cherry family. What a disgrace!‘ Upon arriving in Forreb, he would have immediately acted if it were him. His expression froze momentarily, and a hint of confusion appeared in his captivating
eyes.

At present, his identity was Cassian from Vyrdenia, not the youngest son of the Lysander family in Forreb. It seemed there was nowhere he could go. If people found out who he truly was, it would cause significant trouble. With this thought, he realized that the arrogant one’s decision to stay here temporarily wasn’t entirely wrong.
“You damn fool, you want to return and live as a commoner, don’t you?” Mack yelled.
