He couldn’t make sense of it. The Cherry family had no connection with the Barreras, so the sudden delivery of gifts seemed unusual. Perhaps someone in the Barrera family had taken an interest in Felipe.
Dangelo only had one grandson, but the attention might have come from a young lady in a collateral branch of the family. Mack looked like a starving wolf catching sight of prey, his excitement barely contained as he pressed on eagerly. “What made Mr. Barrera send a gift to Felipe? Has he taken a liking to him?”
Edward felt a flicker of disdain, though his expression remained composed. With a polite smile, he replied courteously. “You’ve misunderstood. Mr. Barrera is delivering this gift for Mr. Cherry’s fiancée.”
He didn’t know Tuesday’s son’s name, but since she had married into the Cherry family, it was safe to assume her son also carried the Cherry name.
