Chapter 744
“Got it!” Felipe declared, his spine straightening with imagined nobility as visions of aristocratic life danced in his head. “No matter what, I must gain those cufflinks!” His voice brimmed with arrogance. “They’re meant for someone of my caliber because no one else deserves such luxury.
“By the way, that lower realm woman wouldn’t still be there, right?” The memory of Raven’s presence irritated him. “I don’t want to see her again tonight. And if my fiancée mistakes our shared taste in cufflinks for some relationship, it could ruin things.”
“Don’t worry,” Leonard reassured him. “Who would spare a glance at a lower–realm woman? If your fiancée learns of her origins, she wouldn’t spare her a second look.”
He scoffed. “Even the most disgraceful Forrebian man wouldn’t tangle with such filth. And we Cherrys? Had the economy not faltered, our company would rank among Frihamen’s top thirty!”
Felipe nodded smugly. “You’re right. Why should we, as noble Forrebians, waste time on lowly insects? They’re beneath our notice.”
“Exactly! Son, keep your sights on what matters, the marriage and the woman whose heart you have to win. Once you make it, our family will command respect again!”
Meanwhile, Raven arrived at Fortuna Hotel, and a waiter led her to a private dining room upstairs. As she ascended the staircase, she sensed eyes on her. A subtle glance revealed Benson lurking nearby. ‘God, it’s this man again.”
Though unaware of his exact motives, she knew he was a persistent threat, likely acting on someone else’s orders.
Upon entering the room, Raven opened the window to observe the hotel entrance and Benson. When he made no immediate move, she dismissed him, turning her attention back to the waiting room.
Down below, Benson tugged his collar higher, concealing his twisted grin. “Finally, I found that bitch!” he muttered. “Since she’s in Forreb now, she’ll meet Cassian, so I’ll track down Tuesday!”
His fingers clenched. “That whore owes me. It’s time to make it even.” His gaze burned into the hotel’s entrance. “Without my connections, Tuesday would never have smuggled herself into Forreb. Everything she has now is because of me. She owes me!”
Raven finished her coffee and checked the time. Cassian was late, so she reached for her phone to call Julio. “Mr. Sutton.”
Her greeting was cut off by a commotion erupting in the lobby below. “Get your hands off me. You know what? This is extortion!”
Curious, Raven peered down. Felipe, well–groomed, stood surrounded by a group of stylishly dressed men and women. He had arrived at the hotel in high spirits, only to collide with a woman in a red dress. Now her friends had cornered him and blocked his way, which made him look like a bird trapped in a cage.
“It was she who bumped into me!” Felipe’s face flushed with indignation. “I did nothing! You can’t just gang up and fabricate lies!”
“Liar!” A short–haired woman sneered. “I saw your hand grab Tiffany’s chest. Coward, and Pervert!”
A short–haired woman sneered. “Man, you’re disgusting. Look well dressed, but dirty inside.”
