Chapter 955
Raven didn’t even flinch. instead, she leaned back with a smirk, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “An intermediate elixir tablet? What, are all your family’s gifts this… uninspired?”
She tilted his head, eyes glinting with mockery. “Or do you actually think this middle–of–the–road junk is some kind of treasure? Gotta say, if that’s the case, this city’s standards are even more pathetic than I thought.”
“Tablets like these? They’re basically fish food around here. Just last week, I handed out nearly a hundred special–grade elixir tablets to my crew to boost their strength.
“So, yeah, your little gift? Pretty much useless.”
Jake’s jaw dropped, his face twisting in disbelief. “Wait, what did you just say? Special–grade elixir tablets? You’re telling me you’ve got those? No way
that’s true!”
He shook his head, practically sputtering. “Those are special–grade, man! Even if you somehow stumbled across one, you’d guard it like it was your firstborn. Nobody just gives those away–especially not a hundred of them! That’s insane!”
In Forlunda City, a stash of special–grade elixir tablets showing up would spark a full–on riot. Even in the secondary cities–or heck, even primary ones, all the way up to Deariton–those tablets were the stuff of legend. Rare, coveted treasures.
Factions would claw each other’s eyes out for just one, and if they got it, they’d lock it away, too precious to even think about using.
And here was Raven, tossing out that she’d just given them to his subordinates like they were candy. It was beyond comprehension.
Jake was starting to wonder if the new lord had lost his damn mind, spouting nonsense like this. But then his eyes nearly popped out of his head.
Raven pulled out a sleek white porcelain bottle and casually tipped it over. More than a dozen golden pills spilled into his palm, shimmering with an otherworldly glow.
Special–grade elixir tablets. The real deal.
“My wife’s got a whole stash of these,” Cassian said, his tone almost bored. “They’re not exactly rare in our house.”
He gave Jake a look that screamed “you’re so beneath us“. With a smug grin, he plucked the bottle from Raven’s hand and tossed it to Timothy like it was no big deal.
“Hand these out to the crew who dealt with that junk,” Cassian drawled, shooting Jake a look that screamed you’re not even on my level. “They’ve
earned it.”
“Excuse me, what?” Chang Huai’an sputtered, his face twisting like he’d bitten into a lemon.
‘A special elixir tablet–a treasure worth more than most people’s entire estates–tossed to a servant?‘ he thought. ‘And to top it all off, he has the gall to call the meticulously chosen gifts from the great families trash?‘
Those gifts weren’t just trinkets. Every family head had poured their heart and soul into selecting them, practically bleeding as they parted with their
finest treasures.
And here was Cassian, acting like they were nothing more than roadside clutter.
‘Ugh, this guy!‘ Jake’s blood boiled. Screw etiquette–he wasn’t holding back.
Pointing a trembling finger at Cassian, he bellowed, “My lady, I don’t care how many elixir tablets you’ve got stashed away! You can’t just hand them out like candy! Those are priceless! What makes you think you can give them to servants?”
Cassian’s icy, disdainful mask cracked the second Jake opened his mouth. In a flash, he sidled up to Raven, wrapping an arm around her with a playful pout. “Babe, what’s the deal? You saying I can’t handle this? Or-”

His voice dropped, teasing, “Are you still hung up on that cold ‘me‘ and don’t trust me with the family business?”
Raven froze, her lips parting in a silent what the hell. ‘Is this guy serious? Did he sneak in a drama degree or something?”
