Chapter 956
Chapter 956
Raven knew Cassian’s second personality was all an act, but she’d still play along and give him the spotlight in front of outsiders. No one needed to know the truth–especially not some wannabe like Jake.
With a flick of her wrist, she sent Jake sprawling to the ground, his smug grin wiped clean off. “Who do you think you are, questioning my man?” she snapped, her voice sharp as a blade. “My rules run this place, and you’d better fall in line.
“You think I’m blind to the little schemes you and your family are cooking up? You’ve had your fun poking around. Now craw! back and tell them you
failed.”
Her eyes glinted with a dangerous edge. “Test me all you want, but if anyone dares disrespect Cassian, they’re gone. Poof. Vanished. Got it?”
Jake’s face paled, his legs trembling like a leaf in a storm. “I–I got it,” he stammered, barely able to meet her gaze.
Scrambling to his feet, Jake bolted from the manor, too spooked to even wince at the pain. For a moment there, he’d sworn Raven’s aura was about to
end him.
By the time Jake limped back to the manor, whispers about Raven were already spreading like wildfire. The news hit the major families like a
thunderbolt.
“She gave a special–grade elixir tablet to a servant? A servant?” one head gasped, clutching his chest.
“And get this–she took the intermediate elixir tablet Ms. Larsson sent and fed it to her damn fish!” another sputtered, eyes wide.
“And she’s got Cassian Lysander on a pedestal? Cross him, and you’re dead. Like, dead dead?”
The family heads were floored, their worldviews shattered.
Special–grade elixir tablets were the stuff of legends, even in the Imperial City. Yet here was Raven, a lord from a backwater city, tossing them around like candy to her crew. ‘Just how terrifying is her true power?‘ they wondered.
Any thoughts of ganging up to topple her evaporated faster than morning mist. No one dared challenge a lord with that kind of strength.
And those elixir tablets–she was handing them out like party favors. The families were already scheming, desperate to cozy up to her.
If it meant snagging one of those precious tablets, they’d grovel at her feet without a second thought.
Word of the new leader’s Special Elixir Tablet spread like wildfire through Forlunda City’s elite families. The heads of those clans, who’d been itching to challenge Raven, quickly backed off. No one wanted to mess with someone holding that kind of power.
Even the big shots running the city’s selection event caught wind of the news. When they heard the new overlord was handing out these coveted tablets to his crew on the regular, they were practically drooling.
But they knew better than to try. Those goons were loyal to the new leader, and crossing her? Yeah, that was a death wish.
Still, the city’s high rollers weren’t ready to give up. They zeroed in on the Lord’s right–hand executive, who’d shown up for the selection event. “Get in. good with that guy,” they schemed, “and maybe we’ll score some of those sweet tablets.”
Even if they couldn’t snag the top–tier Special grade, a high or mid–grade pill would still be a major win.
A week later, the selection event was ready to kick off. The organizer dropped the list of participants early, stirring up the usual buzz.
But when the families scanned the names, one stood out like a sore thumb.
“Raven Valor?” a noble sneered, tossing the list onto the table. “Isn’t she that nobody the Larsson girl was yapping about?”
“Yup, that’s her,” another chimed in, leaning back with a smirk. “Can’t believe that lowlife had the guts to show her face in Forlunda City.”

Chapter 956
A while back, Janice had dangled an intermediate–grade pill in front of a few big families, trying to rally them against some small–fry named Raven Valor
At the time, they’d just shrugged it off. No one cared about some no–name commoner.
