Chapter 975
Troy shrank back like a scared turtle under Timothy’s murderous aura. Swallowing hard, he forced out a shaky explanation: “Look, you saw what happened.
“This Raven chick pulls out some high–grade elixir that’s way above her paygrade. Cheating’s written all over it! If I let this slide, how’s that fair to the other competitors?”
“Hell, just the cheating alone means disqualification plus a one–way ticket to the Inspection Bureau. I’m just calling it like I see it.
“You really wanna send some fraud to represent Forlunda in the upper cities? We’d be the laughingstock of the whole damn alliance!”
“And get this—if by some miracle she actually becomes Scion’s right hand?” His voice turned shrill. “When–not if–she screws up? Every judge here’s gonna be cleaning up that mess with their heads on the chopping block!”
Timothy and his crew saw red. Their fingers twitched toward their weapons–one more word from this bastard questioning Raven’s honor and they’d paint the walls with him.
But Raven? Cool as the other side of the pillow. She stepped out from behind the executives.
“Funny thing,” she said, icy eyes locking onto Troy. “I was gonna keep my head down after winning this gig. Take a little vacation, you know?” Her voice dropped to a dangerous purr. “But since you’re begging for it? Let’s play.”
Troy’s lip curled. “Cut the crap, gutter trash. What’re you–some backwater nobody–doing with elite–grade elixirs? Even family heads can’t score that
tier!”
He jabbed a finger at her. “There’s not a single alchemist in this dump who could brew those. Save us all time and confess!”
“Who the hell said nobody in Forlorna can brew Advanced elixirs?” Raven scoffed, her lips curling into a wicked grin. “Hell, the new lord can make Special–grade tablets in their sleep.”
“You’re full of shit!” Troy spat. “A nobody like you comparing yourself to the new lord? Don’t make me laugh!”
His hand froze mid–gesture as realization hit him like a thunderbolt. The color drained from his face as he pointed a shaking finger at Raven. “Wait… what are you implying?”
‘Is this cocky bitch actually the mysterious new low who’d taken control of Forlorna’s factions overnight?‘ he thought. “How is this possible?”
He remembered the registration forms showed blank under faction affiliation. ‘If Raven really hold that kind of clout, why keep it secret?‘ he wondered.
Any sane person would’ve flaunted that status from day one – instant promotion, VIP treatment, the whole nine yards.
“Timothy,” Troy whispered desperately, “tell me this punk’s lying through her teeth. There’s no way she’s the new lord, right?”
The room held its breath as all eyes locked onto Timothy Devonport.
Timothy cleared his throat. “Actually… she is our new boss. And yes, the new lord of Forlorna’s factions.” A wry smile twisted his lips as he added, “You really think just anyone could whip out Advanced elixirs like candy?
“Lady Valor earned her stripes the hard way. You got a problem with that?”
Troy’s mouth opened, then closed like a fish out of water. “I… that is…”
