Chapter 19
Eric kept flipping a medical report from the hospital that his secretary sent over to him while on their way home.
He read the words ‘Mild injury, nothing unusual detected on the organs and bones‘ several times before he finally stopped worrying.
Stella was seated next to him. She took the medical report from his hands and stuffed it into
the bag. Her tone was relaxed.
“I told you I was fine, but you still insisted that I went for a check–up this morning. Can you stop worrying now?”
“Well, I can only stop worrying after reading the medical report with my own eyes. It just takes
a little more time than usual.”
He sounded reasonable, and Stella nodded. She suddenly remembered something important.
“When did you get the security footage from Noel’s villa?”
“This morning.”
Eric replied without hesitation. Stella felt like she was missing something.
“Doesn’t he know about it?”
“He doesn’t need to know. All his assets have to go through my hands including his house, car, and shares. Nothing is excluded.”
A strange thought popped into Stella’s mind.
Before she could catch the thought, it vanished.
She was no longer bothered to think about it now that everything was settled. She started to ask Eric with gusto if he was interested in trying her cooking.
Eric looked at her in astonishment and sounded surprised.
“You can cook?”
Stella did not know how to cook when she was twenty–one back then.
However, she learned a lot from a nutritionist after she gave birth to her daughter.
Stella did not dare to show off too much in front of him and humbly informed him that she merely knew a thing or two when it came to cooking.

After entering the kitchen, she charred the plump and juicy fish until it turned completely black. When the kitchen was filled with thick smoke, her confidence turned into embarrassment as she tried her best to think of an excuse.
“I know how to make nutritious meals, but it’s my first time cooking fish. It’s only normal that
I failed.”
Eric tried his best not to laugh but agreed with her statement completely.
“Well, just make nutritious meals in the future. We’ll live to a hundred years and grow old together if we eat healthy food.”
They were supposed to be positive words, but Stella felt sad at them.
Eric only lived to thirty–five in her past life, and she died in the same year.
They did not even live to a hundred years with their ages combined back then.
Even though their fates had been changed for now, what about the future?
No one could guarantee what would happen.
Eric guessed she must be thinking about something unhappy when he saw the look in her eyes. He quickly changed the topic.
“Why are you suddenly trying to cook fish when you don’t know how to?”
Stella had no answer for that.
She stammered but could not give a reason. In the end, she angrily wiped the black, charred
bits onto his shirt.
“I heard that you liked fish, so I… If I knew you wouldn’t appreciate it, I wouldn’t have wasted my time.”
Eric wiped her hands for her while cajoling her.
“I’ll love eating whatever my wife makes even if it’s charred. Should I get someone to bring us a few fish? I’ll watch over the fire for you. I promise you’ll succeed in cooking it today.”
Stella’s confidence was boosted by his words. She rolled up her sleeves again.
After a few hours of hard work and three poor attempts, she successfully produced a milky- white fish soup.
Eric immediately took a picture and posted his first–ever social media post.
“Wifey’s first bowl of fish soup.”

It garnered more than ninety–nine likes in a few minutes.
“Who made this? Stella? When did she learn how to cook? We had no idea!”
“Argh! I’m so jealous! Someone make me a bowl of fish soup now!”
“I want some too. Make it for me next time, Stella!”
