#Chapter 115: Chaos on the Inside
(Raiden’s POV)
The putrid scent of smoke and burning wires assaults my senses the instant Siena and I burst into the command center The flickering emergency lights cast sinister crimson shadows across shattered monitors.
Chaos greets us on every side–warriors shouting over crackling radios, technicians frantically attempting to restore sabotaged communication lines.
My heart pounds fiercely, adrenaline flooding my veins, instincts screaming that this is no ordinary attack. This is personal. “Alpha!” A young tech yells urgently, pointing toward a partially functioning security feed “You need to see this”
Siena and I swiftly cross the room, tension tightening my muscles with every rapid heartbeat.
The grainy surveillance footage flickers ominously, capturing a familiar figure handing over something small–access codes.
My stomach clenches sharply as Mia’s face comes clearly into focus. Her cold face betrays no remorse
“Mia, Siena breathes beside me, voice edged with quiet anger.
My fists clench involuntarily at my sides, frustration and betrayal twist painfully.
Mia’s treachery is no longer a suspicion–it’s an undeniable fact. The depth of her deception feels like a blade slicing deep, a wound inflicted not only upon me but upon the pack itself.
“She gave them direct access,” I growl softly, anger simmering dangerously beneath my careful composure. “They knew exactly where our vulnerabilities lay,”
“Raiden,” Siena murmurs suddenly, her amber eyes narrowing sharply, her voice tense with realization. “Look at the locations targeted. These aren’t random. They’re all connected directly to me.”
My blood turns to ice, dread coiling sharply in my gut with brutal clarity.
Siena’s right. Every compromised location corresponds precisely to Siena’s presence–her quarters, the diplomatic chambers she frequented, even the paths she regularly walked.
“They’re hunting you specifically,” I whisper hoarsely, heart hammering painfully against my ribs. The realization sends a surge of fierce protectiveness roaring through my veins, muscles tightening instinctively. “We need to reach the secure bunker immediately.”
Lila is hunting you.
“Move quickly,” I urge, leading Siena swiftly down a corridor toward the reinforced bunker.
But before we reach safety, a deafening explosion rips through the complex, the force violently knocking us backward. Debris rains down in jagged chunks, dust and smoke choking our lungs, completely isolating us from the security team behind.
“Siena!” My voice tears roughly through the chaos, panic surging fiercely.
Instinctively, I twist sharply toward her, barely glimpsing the fractured support beam collapsing directly above her.
No hesitation.
No second thought.
The first crack sounds like a distant gunshot. My head snaps up, eyes locking on the hairline fractures spreading across the ancient ceiling beams above us.
“Raiden?” Siena’s voice holds a question she hasn’t finished forming.
The second crack drowns her words–louder, closer, final.
Time slows.
In the heartbeat between recognition and disaster, I see everything with impossible clarity: dust particles dancing in the shaft of sunlight from the high window, the faded blue of Siena’s sweater, the slight widening of her eyes as she begins to understand.
I don’t make a conscious decision.
My body launches forward as the first chunk of stone breaks free.
Successfully unlocked!
The distance between us–six feet, maybe seven–stretches like a nightmare where your legs won’t move fast enough. I hear the rumble building overhead, feel the ancient air displaced by falling debris.
“Down!” The word tears from my throat as I slam into her, my momentum carrying us both across the polished floor.
I curl my larger body around hers, one arm cradling her head, my spine a shield against what comes next.

An eternity passes in seconds
The rumbling stops.
Only then do I become aware of Siens beneath me, her heartbeat racing against my thee her breaking sad and share “Raiden?” Her voice sounds far away through the ringing in my ears ‘Raiden, you’re bleedeg
I try to respond, but when I shift my weight, lightning bolts of pain shoot down my arm. Something warm and wet seas through my shirt. The metallic scent of blood–my blood–fills my nostres
“Don’t move,” she whispers, her hands gentle on my face. Just breathe”
I focus on her amber eyes, using them as an anchor against the pain threstering to pull me veder Dust coats her bashes, her cheeks, but her gaze is clear, filled with fear and something else. Something I haven’t seen deertal &
With trembling hands, she examines the wound I can’t see, her sharp intake of breath telling me more than words could “We need to get you out of here,” she says, voice steadier than it has any right to be “Can you stand fi pur
I nod, though I’m not certain it’s true.
Her arm slides around my waist, surprisingly Strong as she braces herself against my weight. Together, we struggle to our feet amid the rubble of what was once a secure room..
“Raiden,” she whispers urgently, swiftly guiding me into an abandoned storage rooth nearby, away from further collapsing walls. The room is small and dimly lit by a single flickering emergency bulb, and stacked crates create a makeshift shelter
around us.
“Sit, she commands firmly, carefully examining my shoulder wound with gentle yet capable fingers.
Her touch radiates warmth through my aching muscles, pain momentarily dulled by the intimacy of her closeness. My heart pounds erratically, emotions swirling chaotically beneath my battered composure.
“It’s not life–threatening,” Siena murmurs quietly, relief softening her voice.
“I can’t lose you again, I admit roughly, voice strained with raw emotion I’ve struggled so long to suppress. The simple declaration carries weight that words spoken in safety could never match.
Siena’s breath catches softly. Her hands paused briefly over my bandaged shoulder, her amber gaze shimmering gently beneath dim lighting. “Raiden..” she whispers, her voice trembling slightly.
“I’ve loved you from the beginning, Siena,” I whisper hoarsely, my voice shaking with quiet honesty. “My pride and fear just wouldn’t let me recognize it. Losing you once nearly destroyed me–I can’t survive it happening again.”
Her eyes widen gently, surprise mingling softly with cautious emotion.
“Raiden,” she murmurs, her voice trembling vulnerably beneath gentle restraint. I’ve waited years to hear you say those words.”
Before either of us can speak further, faint voices echo ominously down the corridor outside–hostiles swiftly approaching our temporary refuge.
“Siena, you must go, I whisper urgently, heart breaking sharply beneath necessary practicality. “I’ll lead them away–please, trust me.”
“We need to split up.” The words tear from my throat, each one feeling like betrayal.
Siena’s head snaps up, amber eyes locking with mine. “No. Absolutely not.”
I grip her shoulders, ignoring the white–hot pain radiating from my own injury. “They’re coming, Siena. We can’t outrun them together–not with me slowing us down.”
“I’m not leaving you,” she hisses, fingers digging into my arm. “Not like this.”
A distant shout echoes down the corridor. They’re getting closer.
“Listen to me,” I say, lowering my voice. “You know the passage behind the old armory. It leads directly to the eastern boundary.”
“And what about you?” Her voice cracks. “What’s your plan, Raiden?”
The warmth of her hands against my skin makes this infinitely harder. After months of distance, the sudden closeness

between us feels like both salvation and torture.
“I’ll create a diversion,” I tell her. “Draw them away from your escape route.”
“That’s suicide,” she whispers fiercely.
I allow myself one moment of weakness, pressing my forehead against hers. “I’ve survived worse.”
“Have you? Because from where I’m standing, you’re already bleeding all over the floor.”
Despite everything, a smile tugs at my lips. “Your concern is touching.”
“Don’t,” she warns, but there’s no heat behind it. Just fear, Raw, unfiltered fear that hits me like a physical blow
Another shout, closer now. The scent of unfamiliar wolves drifts toward us.
“Siena,” I say her name like a prayer. “Please. I can’t fight if I’m worried about you.”
“And you think I can just run? Leave you behind?” Her eyes glisten in the dim light. “After everything?”
My throat tightens. “After everything, yes. That’s exactly why you need to go.”
The sound of breaking glass echoes from somewhere behind us.
Her eyes widen, fear flickering briefly before determination firms her expression. She nods reluctantly, understanding the necessity despite her own protective instincts. “Be careful,” she whispers, her voice thick with emotion.
“I always am.”
“No, you’re not,” she counters. “You’re reckless and stubborn,” she stops herself, swallowing hard. “Just… come back to me. Promise me.”
The words hang between us, loaded with meaning neither of us has been brave enough to face.
“I promise,” I say, though we both know it might be a lie.
Quickly, we move to the concealed passage nearby. My pulse pounds fiercely as I watch Siena slip into the shadows, her slender form disappearing.
“Raiden,” her voice comes softly from the darkness. “I never thanked you. For saving my life back there.”
“You don’t need to-”
“Yes, I do,” she insists. “And when this is over, we need to talk. Really talk.”
My wolf howls in anguish inside my chest, instincts screaming against the potential of permanent loss. “Go,” I manage to say, “Now.”
Run my love, my
life…
My Luna.
