Natalie was completely stunned.
She had never imagined that Finn would show no chivalry at all. But back at the Barnett Mansion, he had been so gentle and considerata toward Arya. The thought of Arya winning Finn’s favor made Natalie’s chest ache with anger.
Just then, Robert walked in with a stack of documents. Seeing Natalie sitting on the floor in a disheveled state in the office, he was taken aback.
It suddenly dawned on Robert that Barnett Group and McKinney Group had a recent collaboration project.
Could it be that Natalie came here to discuss the partnership with Mr. Barnett? With her provocative outfit, she looks more like she’s here to seduce Mr. Barnett,‘ he thought to himself.
As Robert was wondering about this, a cold and sharp voice rang out in his ear. “Robert, throw Ms. McKinney out and cancel all our partnerships with McKinney Group.”
Natalie had never expected Finn to be so ruthless. He not only wanted to kick her out but also to sever all ties with the McKinney family.
Am I really that repulsive?‘ she thought to herself.
Robert had just approached Natalie when she got up from the floor. Maintaining the last bit of her dignity, she said, “I’ll leave.”
After Natalie left, Robert walked up to Finn and handed him the documents. “Mr. Barnett, we’ve checked Miss Keller’s background.”

Finn took the file, glanced through it, and a hint of darkness flickered across his brow. “Why is there no information from five years ago?”
Robert replied respectfully, “Mr. Barnett, all we could find was that Mrs. Barnett was injured and wandering the streets five years ago. She was taken in by the Keller family, who then claimed she was their long–lost daughter. But I couldn’t find anything about Mrs. Barnett’s past before that.”
In fact, Robert was also puzzled.
They had the best investigative team, and getting someone’s background should have been a piece of cake.
But Arya seemed to have appeared out of thin air. Her information from five years ago was completely blank, as if someone had deliberately hidden it.
Whoever could erase a person’s past so thoroughly must be no ordinary individual.
Finn exuded an air of aloofness and nobility. He narrowed his eyes, his gaze filled with a warning. “Then start investigating from eight years ago. Arya was the one who saved me in Duskwood Forest.“.
Robert’s eyes widened in astonishment. “Mr. Barnett, Mrs. Barnett was the one who saved you eight years ago?”
“Yes,” Finn said firmly.
Robert was even more shocked.
Mrs. Barnett looked no more than twenty years old now; she would have been only twelve or thirteen eight years ago. Could a twelve- or thirteen–year- old girl really have saved Mr. Barnett, who was on the brink of death?‘ he wondered.
In Robert’s mind, girls of that age were usually more concerned with following pop stars and screaming at the sight of a school heartthrob.
The idea that Arya could have saved Finn in the harsh environment of Duskwood Forest at such a young age seemed almost impossible.
Finn’s cold command rang out again in his ear. “The Platinum Mansion’s renovation seems a bit too somber. Have someone redo the decorations.”

At the Keller Villa, after dinner, Arya gave her father a comprehensive health checkup.
Seeing that her father’s condition was gradually improving, the weight on her heart began to lift.
However, since her father had been bedridden for over a month, he needed to start some rehabilitation. Arya helped him walk around the villa’s tardero
As they reached the shade of a tree, Stephen suddenly stopped and looked at his beautiful and elegant daughter.
Frowning, he said, “I heard from Travis that you’ve already paid off over 330 million dollars of the company’s debt and even made a bet with the old shareholders that you could earn them a 20% profit within a month.
“Did you also bring in Leroy, the CEO of QE Group, to replace Travis at Keller Group?”
Arya was taken aback that Travis had told her father everything so quickly. She didn’t deny it but simply nodded. “Yes, Dad.”
Stephen’s expression darkened a bit. “Arya, you tell me the truth. What’s your relationship with Leroy? Did Mr. Barnett pay off that over 330 million dollars for you, or was it Leroy?”
He was genuinely worried that his daughter might have made some other sacrifices to revive Keller Group.
After all, 330 million dollars was no small amount. Moreover, Leroy was the CEO of QE Group. Stephen couldn’t figure out why Leroy would be willing to help out at Keller Group, a company on the brink of bankruptcy.
In this world, everything had strings attached. Except for close family, no one helped others without expecting something in return.
Even Finn’s agreement?o help the Keller family was because he was attracted to Arya’s beauty. If Arya had truly made some sacrifices for the Keller Group, Stephen would never forgive himself.
Arya knew what her father was worried about, so she tried to downplay it. “Dad, Leroy invested the 330 million dollars. He’s my friend and came back specifically to help.”
“How did you meet the CEO of QE Group?” But Stephen, being a seasoned businessman, wasn’t easily fooled. “Arya, you tell me the truth. What happened to you five years ago? What’s your real relationship with Leroy?”
After waking up, Stephen learned from his wife that Arya had performed his surgery after he jumped off the building and had saved him from death.
Ever since Arya was abducted by human traffickers at the age of one, the family had been searching for her.
Five years ago, they had finally found her. At that time, Arya had been injured, and they had assumed she had had a tough life during those years, so they had never asked about her past.
Stephen had wanted to make it up to his daughter and compensate for the lost time. But now he realized that her past might be even more complicated than he had imagined.
“Dad, I was taken in by a family in Southin City,” Arya admitted, knowing she couldn’t hide it anymore. “They treated me well and always considered me part of their family. That’s where I met Leroy.”
Stephen’s brow furrowed slightly. ‘Leroy was from the well–known Blair family in Southin City. Could Arya have met Leroy if the family that took her in wasn’t well–off?‘ he thought to himself.
Thinking about how they had taken care of his daughter all these years, Stephen said, “Arya, once I’m feeling better, I’ll have to personally thank them.”
Arya was taken aback for a moment. ‘I just made up that story to reassure Dad, but now he wants to thank them in person. It looks like I need to prepare for that,’ she thought to herself.
At half past ten in the evening, Arya only returned to her bedroom to take a shower after her parents and Travis had gone to bed.

She hadn’t been in the shower long when she suddenly sensed footsteps in the room.
Through the glass door of the bathroom, she clearly saw a tall figure slowly approaching the bathroom.
