Everyone turned their gaze towards the source of the voice.
Russell strode forward, his tall figure exuding an undeniable aura of authority as he coldly said, “Miss White seems to understand my grandfather’s condition better than Professor Ashton. Since you can treat him, then can you explain why his leg reacted with an allergic reaction after your treatment?”
His voice wasn’t loud, but it carried immense pressure, slicing through the air like a sharp, cold wind that sent a chill straight to Evelyn’s heart.
Instinctively, Evelyn lifted her gaze, only to meet Russell’s piercing eyes.
She staggered back a step, startled. She knew Russell was as cold as his name suggested, but she never imagined he would target her twice, all because of Arya.
She was from the White family, one of Flodes City’s five major families!
Feeling wronged, Evelyn quickly spoke up, “Russell, I just wanted to treat Albert’s gout as quickly as possible. Those herbal ointments…. I worked so hard at home to make them, I never expected…”
“Shut up.” Russell shot her a glare, interrupting her mercilessly.
His gaze shifted to Arya, and in an instant, his frosty demeanor evaporated. With a playful grin, he said, “Miss Keller, don’t mind these random comments. Feel free to treat my grandfather. If anything goes wrong, it’s on me.”
Albert, lying on the bed, had thought that Russell was finally coming around. But hearing that last sentence, he nearly choked in frustration, “You little brat, are you hoping I get worse?”
At this point, Arya calmly spoke up, “Don’t worry, I won’t make Albert worse.”
As she spoke, her slender fingers swiftly picked up medical tools and expertly pressed two key acupoints on Albert’s head.
She then drew out the tools again and carefully inserted them into the joints affected by his gout.
Russell watched her delicate, beautiful hands intently, his eyes glued to the way they moved–fluid and precise, as though they were born to heal. He couldn’t tear his gaze away.
If before he had seen Arya merely as eye candy, now, something within him stirred–a sudden admiration.
He thought to himself, ‘She’s a treasure. Finn really hit the jackpot.‘
Evelyn and Winnie, watching intently, silently prayed for Arya to mess up.
If she made Albert worse, her reputation would be finished.
But much to their surprise, Arya completed the procedure with ease, and Albert didn’t show any signs of discomfort.
Instead, he flashed a look of awe and said, “Incredible. This is truly amazing. I feel a surge of strength throughout my body.”
For the past twenty years, he’d felt constantly drained, unable to move without struggling for breath.
But now, it felt as if a new energy was coursing through him. He could almost imagine himself on the basketball court, battling for hours.
Jeff chuckled and said, “Albert, Lexie saved a patient on the brink of death before. She’s amazing. With her treating you, you can rest easy.”
Albert’s gaze softened, filled with respect and admiration as he looked at Arya,
Colin had always painted Arya as a villain/ accusing her of manipulating Finn and causing a rift between him and their family.

He’d nearly had a heart attack over it. But now, he couldn’t help but feel that Arya, with her calm and distant air, seemed like an angel far removed from the schemer he’d imagined.
And now, not only was she beautiful, but she could also heal. She was far from just a pretty face.
Anyone who could marry Arya would be lucky indeed.
Suddenly, a bold idea popped into Albert’s mind.
‘Colin doesn’t think Arya is good enough for the Barnett family? How about letting her marry Russell? He’d treat her like his own granddaughter!
At that moment, Arya, having finished the acupuncture, took out a pill wrapped in medicinal paper and handed it to Albert, saying, “Albert, just take this pill. Within a week, your gout will be completely healed.”
Russell quickly reached out and took the pill, saying, “Miss Keller, thank you so much for today.”
Arya only smiled faintly and replied, “No need to thank me.”
Evelyn, watching this scene unfold, saw the shift in Albert’s attitude toward Arya. Her hands unconsciously clenched into fists at her sides.
A year ago, she had spent a fortune, buying countless gifts to please Albert. It wasn’t until she saved him at a birthday banquet that he started paying attention to her.
But now? Arya, with just a few needles, had Albert looking at her with admiration and respect?
Evelyn seethed, ‘Why does Arya deserve this?‘
Meanwhile, Russell unwrapped the pill and nearly recoiled in horror when he saw it–it was a dark, lumpy thing that looked like cow dung. He nearly shouted, “Are you sure this is the right pill for my grandfather?”
Suddenly, he regretted his earlier words, “If anything goes wrong, it’s on me.”
He thought to himself, ‘How can this black, grimy pill possibly help Grandpa?‘
But when Jeff saw the pill in Russell’s hand, his expression shifted to one of amazement. “Lexie, I can’t believe you actually created a powerful gout cure pill?”
Five years ago, at a medical conference, Lexie had mentioned she was working on a pill to cure gout completely.
Back then, many doctors had scoffed at the idea, claiming that gout was incurable and that a single pill couldn’t possibly work.
But Jeff knew, ‘Lexie could do it. And now, it seems like she has.‘
“Yes,” Arya replied with a calm smile, “This pill is the one I developed five years ago.”
Back then, seeing the suffering of gout patients had motivated her to find a cure.
After years of hard work, she had succeeded.
However, her plans were disrupted by Silas’s sudden accident, and she soon found herself in Flodes City to complete her mission.
Evelyn, noticing Russell’s growing skepticism about the pill, quickly added fuel to the fire, saying, “You can’t be serious, can you? This pill looks like cow dung. Who knows what kind of rubbish is in there? Who would dare to take it?”
