Ryan was looking for me?
The night I left with Ethan, I wasn’t in a good state.
So he handled everything afterward.
All the assets and documents I’d prepared to return to Ryan were sent to the Brown family home.
The property that needed handling was entrusted to the lawyer I’d found.
The divorce aftermath was naturally handed to the lawyer as well.
For everything else, like my phone card, Ethan simply canceled them.
If Ryan had any issues, he should contact the lawyer, but not me.
I was in the process of deleting those messages when a voice call came through.
My finger got ahead of me, and then accidentally accepted it.
“Sophie! What the hell are you doing?!”
Ryan’s voice burst out immediately.
“Did someone steal your phone?”
“If it was stolen, don’t you know to buy a new one?”
“If you bought a new one, don’t you know to call me?”
“Don’t you have my number memorized?!”
I held the phone silently.
“And! Where did you go?”

“Do you still want to celebrate our anniversary or not?”
“Ryan,” I was surprised by how easily I said his name. “We’re already divorced.”
Before he could say another word, I hung up.

Messages kept popping up.
I clicked on his profile and blocked him.

A new environment truly makes it easier to move on.
On my way home, I bought a small cake.
After all, Ethan and I had chatted for over two years. Once past the initial awkwardness, I

Lately, he seemed less busy, coming back to the apartment more frequently.
As I carried the cake, I thought: He’ll probably come home today.
